I want to ask something....please humbly help me.....

Thanks everyone for trying to piss people off.I'm quite offended but don't worry I'm not detesting anyone. And you people are going Off-Topic than what I originally posted in here. All i ask is help and I got slanders, and some negativity and this is not helping at all.

Let's make this simple so that nobody got offended or what..... If anyone wants to help me,then help me.....If no one's helping,then don't comment or talk bad about me or my country.

Let me clarify this..... I'm 19 this year and just celebrated my 19th B'day on April 19th this year.I'm not claiming things and so don't brand me a liar. I'm for real and not fake.No assumptions please.....I'm truly from Malaysia and not some fakers who fake themselves.

So to conclude it read my post,help me if anyones willing to help me and if anyone is not helping me,don't comment much and talk bad things about me. Thanks and sorry if it is offending to anyone.

I was not commenting badly about your or your country. I didn't see anybody slander you. I merely pointed out that it is probably a very unreasonable request to make to be asking a total stranger to loan you a book and ship it overseas and you might want to lower your expectations or your wishes.

You have a lot of nerve coming on here where noone knows you, asking to lend a book without a title, and then YOU are pissed off?

Yes, let's make this really simple. The thing about Usenet, is you're going to get the comments anyway, so don't try to tell people to be quiet. If you want some designs, do your own work and look them up on the Internet yourself. People here have been quite friendly, offering you help, which isn't good enough for you. You keep insisting you want someone to send/lend this book to a person who is totally unknown to them, no doubt they should pay the postage too.

That's the thing about the Internet - there are lots of liars and fakes, especially ones who try to part people from their money, so what do you expect when you come unknown to this group? People are right to be cautious, and if you don't like it, too bad.

And if people here want to discuss your country, they're going to discuss it. Maybe you need to back off. It doesn't sound like anyone has this unknown book and is willing to send it you.

Your posts sound like those Nigerian scam e-mails that have been circulating for years.

Maybe you're right maybe I should back off and do not make this worse.....I'm not a scam.I'm too honest to scam other people. Maybe I become too insisting that everyone made it sounds like a scam or something that gets in other people's nerves.

Maybe I should cool down as well.I get rather too emotional when certain issues have connections to my country as i certainly do not like anyone talking bad about my country.

Let's make this simple and we will have peace.With all due respect,I didn't mean for this to happen so I apologize and I have respect for you people.

You've helped me too! I am leading/teaching/facilitating a workshop this summer at the cultural/rock festival (yeah, it gets complicated!!! grin) on "subversive sewing" and handcrafts. After reading this thread I've gotten the idea to do some ginormous "Eyes" using long sticks (1 meter or more) and strips of scrap fabrics. Should definitely get folks attention!

UMMM I now see this discussion in development , sorry i haven`t noted this before ,,, I still don`t see Tim`s letter , but i can relate to person answering here ... Giving advice that one should live with his means or his [cultural] restrictions, is nice easy and doesn`t solve any thing, It is quite annoying to get such an answer. Thus if Tim could ake a list of waht he has , which things are allowed than maybe we could help him anyway to help himself... But maybe he lacks some [ideas] as how to make beter use of what he has in all sides. That your friends are missionaries and and have to live within the restrictions of the place they live in, IS THEIR CHOICE , not their lot, they can change it by walking away or going on holidays from time to time ,.,,Tim has no choice about how he lives, Thus preaching to him to live within his means , is a bit unkind. I don`t know where you live ,but i do live in circumstances where for many years we had to do with what we had, and we lived through it, it made us more creative and inventive, yet i would not preach to others, just suggest looking many times towards oneself towards one`s soroundings . Maybe try and have a secondlook at things. But we are far away and don`t really know how Tim lives ,, thus let`s be careful, in our advice . He initially wrote and asked that someone lend him a book on Ojos de Dios that weren't a four-spoke pattern. He said he had seen books on it but could not afford to buy them because of the exchange rate, but he was wondering if someone else could loan him a book.

Previously on other crafts sites (I will go dig up the sites and post URLs if anybody really needs to know), he had asked for people to give/loan him things about other crafts and had said that he wasn't poor, but that he was bored and needed something to do, that his mom had started him on one craft [I can't remember which one it was] a while back and now he was filling his time by learning other crafts.

In the context above, I felt it was reasonable. If, as he stated, his father doesn't want him buying things off of the internet, I wonder what his father would think of him asking people on the internet to give him things. I have no idea whether he would approve or not. But if one is bored, one needs to find the solution to the boredom within oneself, not by relying on mooching off of other people.

Again, I did state that if he had offered to pay postage or to send something particularly Malaysian in exchange for the book, that would have been a fair exchange. But just saying, "Does someone have this book and can you loan it to me," and refusing any other help on the same vein (web sites, etc.) and insisting that it's got to be the book or nothing -- well, that's a different story than someone who is desperately poor.

Now, the person who torched the various people named in the other thread insisted that depending on handouts from other countries is a perfectly valid way of helping them out of poverty. To those looking for a way out of desperate poverty, I would *NOT* tell them to learn to live within their means. But I perceived that this was not his case. I hope this clarifies things for you.
