Knitting Peeves?

Especially when you buy a large ball or expensive yarn, and you are not expecting this!

Thanks. I always thought so. He also darned them. I have memories of my father sitting at the kitchen table, with an egg cup stuck in a sock, darning away. He was so good that you couldn't tell that the sock had ever had a hole!

Oh that annoys me, especially when it is a variegated type yarn, and the join does not follow the colour changes, but misses out some colours. On several occasions I've had to re-knit a sleeve, or a right/left side of a jacket to match the other sleeve or jacket side.

If you are knitting for enjoyment and have to frog you are just getting double the enjoyment out of those same rows.

I once had two balls of variegated yarn and they were wound in opposite directions so the colors came off the ball in a different order. I had to rewind the entire second ball before I could use it.

Send me your patterns with charts, I'll send you my patterns with words. I'm a lot happier with pictures and symbols, but give me a long list of instructions and I'm lost! (I'm the same with driving, verbal directions faze me, give me a map any time!)

I want both. I want the words to start with and the chart for backup, because either or both can have mistakes. With both I have a better chance of figuring it out.

Knitting for end result? Then you frog it because if it's obviously wrong, you don't get the right reactions. The pleasure is then in getting it as right as you possibly can.

I've heard it said that there are two kinds of knitters those who knit for the process and those who knit for the product. I guess I'm a process knitter.

If there are more than one knot in the yarn I bring it back.....

I hate it when a pattern is written in run on style so you have to sit and re write it in little bites, so you do not get lost.

I have `met` another problem , i do knit crochet etc ,, thah i have some friends [???] who Constantly will say , this is so oldfashioned ,why don`t you buy some ready made sweaters ? mirjam
