I MADE them, Kat! My friend, Bill, now deceased, was a chemist and he left me lots of fun stuff to play with. We took some glow in the dark stuff down by Bills' nephew, Jason, who powder-coated some old metal straight needles for me! I think I MIGHT talk to Bills son, BJ, who's also a chemist, get some more 'stuff' and SELL them! Hugs, Noreen

Katherine, IF I can get more stuff, and MARKET them, you'll be first to know vis-a-vis our "IM" conversation of earlier! Hugs, Noreen

Hi Mirjam,

We must date ourselves as I remember when that happened with the watches too. We watched at TV show about those ladies a few years ago. Tom says even the glow in the dark toys they have in the summer he wonders how safe they are.

Much different formulations than back then... I mean, we even have glow in the dark YARN now, meant to be WORN. JM2C Noreen who is of the adage: don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you read, LOL

Sort of. I have an old glowing plastic toy (from the 1950s) that I think is safe enough - it's in the plastic, not painted on - but I still wonder about some items.

If you read the website for the glow-in-the-dark yarn, there are two different formulations. The one that only glows for a short time seems okay, like the glow-paint we can get now, but the long-term glow yarn is made with strontium! Anybody remember milk contaminated with strongium-90 from fallout?
