Yes the surgery is the 28th and can't wait. I am still trying to knit some but crocheting now almost impossible.

I am still reading most days but can't post very often because typing causes a lot of pain. I am still working each day but admit that emotionally is getting harder and harder to do that.

Thanks for the concern. I am still holding together but admit if it wasn't for Andy I don't know what I would do. I cry on his shoulder most nights due to the pain.

Darlene, My thoughts, prayers, cyber hugs, vibes, everything I've got will be with you until, during and fully after your surgery! Don't bother to reply, the pain's not worth it. DO have Andy post for you after surgery tho, if he would! Love, Noreen

Cry as much as you need to, but I still don't see why the doctors cannot give you something to ease it a little. Hang in there, we are with you in spirit.

The doctor can't give me a lot of different pain killers because I have a severe allergy to codeine. Only one week left before surgery now.

Oh dear, how very difficult that must be for you. I am so sorry. (p.s. does scotch or gin work?)

OK, now I'm hearing the twilight zone music. You sure you're not my mom's daughter, Darlene? SHE can't tolerate codeine either! She's also allergic to novacaine, are you? Both of you with the wrists..... twilight zone outer limits. ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! hiding under the covers Noreen

Ick! I've had two root canals in my life, two wisdom teeth pulled, and one that hadn't come through (actually there's still another that hasn't come through, but causes no pain) that had to be cut out. Personally I preferred the root canals... I only needed extra strength Tylenol for them, thank goodness.

Good luck with your surgery, Darlene! My thoughts and prayers will be with you for a speedy recovery so that you can get back to your regular daily routine.

I know what you mean though, about the codeine though. I have a severe allergy to it too, and morpheine... they both affect my breathing (ie. I can barely breathe), and (if you can believe this one) regular aspirin which causes a lot of heavy pressure on my chest like there is a heavy weight sitting on my chest, and more recently we discovered that I also have a severe allery to amitriptyline (which is normally used for people with Fibromyalgia) that causes very bad pains throughout my body and makes me sick to my stomach making me very weak for the next three to four days afterward.... and the latest one we discovered that I have a severe allergy to is Zantac which closes my throat up and I feel like I'm choking to death. :o/

In any case, I hope your surgery goes well and you will be back to normal as soon as possible.

Oh by the way... (I haven't read *all* the messages yet, so if you've already commented on this, just ignore this post)... Nadia (madhatress) gave me permission to use the picture of the two of you together in the RCTY Photo Album *IF* you also agree to it being used. So, if it's okay with you too... I will add the picture. I will wait until I get a definite yes from you first though!

I have an allergy to codeine and to morpheine (they found that one out when I awoke from my cancer surgery and was barely able to breathe), but I don't have a problem *knock on wood* yet with novacaine. It takes a LOOOONG time for it to wear off, but other than that, I haven't noticed anything. Of course I haven't had to have any for about a year now, so who knows what new thing my body is going to decide to reject?

Hi, Gem!

*I'm* one of those who... it doesn't take and doesn't take, and doesn't take, so they give me more-more-more, THEN it finally takes, and then it takes forever and two days to wear off! (Novacaine) JM2C, Noreen

Thanks for making me smile.

No don't think I'm your mom's daughter but we are alot a like.

I can't wait until this time next week when I will be dealing with the pain from the surgery instead of this pain.
