"F=F6delse" just means "birth" so f=F6delsedagen literally is birthday. As an English-speaker, even after 14 years in Sweden I still think of "=F6" as "o with 2 funny little dots over it"! :-)

WOW !!! ERIN !!! What an interesting word for Birth ??? For me the o with the 2 dots isn`t so strange, after all Hebrew is also written with Vowels which aren`t letters , but dots under, over, inside or before the the consonant ,,,, but you are right the 2 dots over the O are very cute !!! mirjam
