paper making

We had a great day on Tuesday and learned a lot. Even to make two coloured paper by putting two layer on top of each other. We started with yellow pulp (made from tissue paper from the dollar store) The Second layer was blue. (also from tissue paper from the dollar store) One of the kids that were here yesterday, but her small hand on the frame, inside the deckle, and we dipped the frame deckle and hand into the blue pulp, and scooped the pulp, holding the childs hand steady all the time and bringing it back out of the bath. Now lift the hand straight up. With the negative shape of the hand (no pulp where the hand was) we tipped the blue on the yellow back ground. Voila a perfect two toned hand. Lots of fun and the beginning of a great Chritmas card, exchanging the hand for a Christmas tree shape, and the first colour would be green. Lots of great ideas and possibilities come out those first rials of doing and learning.

I will post some pictures of the papers we made on my website (soon) I hope.
