Does anyone else make paper ?

I make paper when I can.. I use anything from .. dryer lent.. to ribbons or fabric I take appart.. glitter.. confettie.. flower pedals...feathers... pretty much anything i can find..

I would like to try making paper but would not know where to start. Wuold I need a lot of fancy supplies? Lin

I bought my kids a handmade paper kit for about 16 bucks several years ago...we have had so much fun doing it, but really the only thing you need you can make...you need fine mesh window screening and some sort of frame to attach it to. Think of it as a tray with a screen bottom. After that you use papers around your house, cardstock scraps, dryer lint, flower petals, whatever...you blend the stuff, mix with water in a big tub, scoop some of the pulpy stuff out with your screen, allow to dry and viola, paper! That was of course a simplified version, I am sure there are online guides to paper making. It really is fun! We recycled DS's school papers one year into a really pretty paper with glitter imbedded into it! Arleen

I saw some that Jessie made. She took I think those different inks and colors of paint and used sponges and other painting tools to make some really pretty background paper. I have been wanting to try (yea right! as if I HAD the time and ABILITY!!!).

My sister used to make paper a few years back. She took newspaper, scrap paper, junk mail ( the non glossy type) whatever she had. Put it all in a blender with water and mixed it until it was a gushy pulp. Then she had a wooden frame with an old window screen cut to fit ( or I have read you can use old pantyhose as well). She spread the pulp out on the screen ( not to thick that it will be bulky and not dry, and not too thin that it would have holes or not hold up well) then just let it dry. She would also add flower petals and essential oil to the paper and water when she blended it to make scented paper.
