Storing shawls

Does anyone have a favorite/best way of storing shawls when they are not being worn? Right now I have mine kind of folded in half, then rolled up. I don't want them getting squished or creased or the fringe messed up in a drawer or on a shelf when not in use. Thanks! Marie and the cats

Hi ,could it be stored in something like a gift box that has the thin paper wrapped over it ,that way it won't get dusty. But put a label on the box .

Hi Marie,

I generally fold mine once (loosely) and then hang them over one of those padded hangers that one uses for hanging pants. It doesn't leave a crease and it keeps any fringe from tangling.

I have a related question.

This morning I finished the Frost and Ice shawl I've made for a daughter in law. It has to be posted along with other items for Christmas. There will be a heavy box of books for a grad-daughter, some smaller and more fragile boxes of dolls' house furniture for another, a r/c boat for son and the shawl. It would be so much easier to take them but they're 225 miles of the next most crowded roads in England (the worst are in and around London).

Perhaps I should send four parcels. The boxy ones are easy but the shawl?

Over 80" wide, 42" long (triangular) in Kidsilk Haze. I've never packed such a thing before and want it to arrive uncreased and perfect. Well, as perfect as it is now - Christine might not spot the (non) deliberate mistakes ... :-)

All suggestions will be welcome.

Hi Mary: A couple of months ago, I made a large lacy shawl for the HAP fund raising event. I folded it in half, then rolled it up loosely and shipped it separately in it's own box. It arrived in very good condition. Marie and the cats

that purpose. I'm just worried about the shawls getting mangled with gnarly fringe being laid flat on a shelf. I spent a pretty penny on the specialty yarn for those (it was on sale but still...). Bad enough they'll probably have multi colored animal fur fibers added to them LOL. Marie and the cats

Thanks, Marie.

This morning I folded one top point to the centre then the other one themn pulled up the bottom point to meet them. That made it rectangular. Then I folded it losely into smaller rectangles, over tissue paper. I think I'll find a box to fit it.
