Uh-oh...temptation!

Oh dear...my wonderful shiatsu massage therapist, who comes to my house, pounced on my box of Sampler Afghan squares today with cries of admiration; she's just learned to knit and is eager to learn more than just basic knit and purl and fun-yarn scarves. So I dug out the extra copy of the Sampler Afghan booklet I'd bought when I thought I'd lost my original, and gave it to her, and then...then...she said, Have you been to the new LYS?? It's only a couple of miles away! Thank goodness they'll probably be closed tomorrow for Easter, and it's too late to go there now. The LAST thing I need is more temptation! I can't switch my allegiance from Chris at Cloverhill, but I have to give this place the once-over.

Besides tempting me, she did wonders for my poor infected sinuses, as usual, too. ;)

I am so jealous... a LYS practically next door, and a shiatsu masseuse who makes house calls.

But I am not jealous of having infected sinuses.

You win some, you lose some...

She shares an office with others, but she lives so close to me that she just packs her bag and comes to my house. She is a miracle. After she loosened me up, I went back to knitting after dinner and soon felt cramped, so I had a nice stretching session before bed. Instead of going to bed all hunched up and waking up stiff and aching.

Spring is always hard on my sinuses. Sometimes I think I should retire and become a professional invalid. Hey, if people can will their bodies to science, why shouldn't I get paid for being studied while I'm alive?

Happy Easter, everyone!

Is this the Leisure Arts one for crochet? If so, I'm working on that one right now, too. I started a couple of weeks ago and have done two shawls in between, but I'm up to square 4 (triple crochet) and expect to finish that one tonight and move on to number 5 (front and back loop hdc).

I totally skipped their color scheme and am instead going with ecru, beige and colonial blue. I'm doing this one as a trial run in Caron's Simply Soft. The *real* one will be in something much nicer, I think. I just didn't want to dump $200 or more into yarn to find out I don't like the pattern. This particular one I'm doing right now will probably end up being the blanket I let my children romp with on the floor. The "good" one will be for ME. Me ME *ME*. Mine.

By the by, I started playing around with knitting last night. I'm horrible, and the results are just hilarious. At one point I had a needle under each armpit and the yarn wound 'round my hand so badly I didn't think I was going to ever get unstuck. There I was, sitting up in bed, covered in yarn and how-to books and giggling like a fiend with two hooks apparently sticking out of my body. My husband, luckily, has become used to such displays of insanity on my part and didn't have much to say.

I think I'll be sticking with crochet for a bit longer. :)

It's Leisure Arts, but it's knitted (I don't crochet very much). I didn't realize they had a crocheted sampler afghan; will have to look for that.

Sounds nice!

I can just see this!! Thanks for the laugh.
