you're interested in making it a weekend getaway, read up on Brandywine Valley. There's lots to do in the area, including Longwood Gardens and the Brandywine River Museum (home of Wyeths and American illustrators).

Such gorgeous pieces! I used to get a catalog from Winterthur. Wish I could visit.

Sue - I think this is a definite outing! I'm toying with the desire to go to the conference and the reality of lack of $$$$$.

A couple of hours. A group from our EGA chapter visited last winter when the Plymouth Jacket went on exhibition . Donna arranged it, and we were broken into small groups and got special tours behind the scenes into the needlework conservation vaults and rooms that aren't always open to the public. It was fabulous. I'll surely go for the exhibit - perhaps Sue & some of the other locals might want to meet up there somehow. But, while the conference is really tempting I can't do the splurge of money right now.

Want some CAPS tix? 3 of the guys from DH's office who were in our little consortium decided after not responding all summer - to drop out. So we've got a handful of tix to allocate out - and no one in the group can take the remaining 2 pre-season game tix (Friday & Sunday) - which are only 1/2 price. Go figure!

I'm in the same boat...would love to go to the exhibit, can't afford the conference (either in money or time).

Would you like to go some Friday or Saturday? I might be able to get a Friday off in late Oct./early Nov....

Definitely. I'm not going hard into jobsearch again until after I get some proposals in during Oct. So, could do Nov 4 or Oct 28, thinking Friday. But those Saturdays are good also. Maybe Ericka wants to ride up with me.

So, if anyone else is interested, we could then take it off line.
