molds from retired relative

My wife has an uncle who is from Ohio who worked in the pottery business his whole life and created his own molds. He is retired and now has a whole garage full of these and I was wondering if anyone would have any advice on selling them. I told his daughter I would ask. He also has two kilns.

He is a very proud man whose health isn't great. It would be nice to see him deal with someone who respects his work.

I would imagine she is working on dealing with all of this in the summer. Thanks for any feedback.

I'm just going to respond to keep this in the hopper...

There actually might be people here or in one of the crafts room that would be interested. I recommended EBay because you would have such a larger audience and you can post pictures of the items.

It is a shame to let an artist go un-noticed. Thanks for making the effort on their behalf. I don't do slip molds or know of anyone that does but I have always been impressed with the work.

Creeker, E-bay is one source and you might put an ad in Ceramics Monthly to advertise what is for sale. You also might check with local schools' art departments, craft centers, art teachers, ceramics instructors and even a classified ad in your local paper. Good luck. Kup the potter

Thanks for all your feedback. I passed on the information to him and his daughter and this summer we will take on the task. I'll make sure to post again when we are ready in case any of you are interested.

Also the newer ceramic "paint it yourself" shops might be interested in buying those custom pieces. Ceramics monthly would be a good magazine to advertise in.
