So - who has met face to face

I've spent time - not nearly enough of it either - with Bobbie V., Margaret St John, Elizabeth C, Sheena, Gillian, TiaMary and Jelena (no longer here).

I run in to Marianne Anderson (long gone) at hockey rinks or Target once in a while.

I've talked (and talked and talked) to Jere, Ellice and Karen C.

Who's next....

MelissaD and I are in the same EGA, so I see her several times a year.

I've met Mavia (and several others) on a planned mass excursion (Girls Week Out) VBG

Have talked to several people on the phone, including Cheryl.

I'm sure if I think about it a while, more will come to mind. Still waiting for Gillian to point the RV my way.

I've met Cheryl, Dr Brat, Gillian, Mavia, Sharon in NB, Ruby (who is still around but Bill is retired now and they are off gadding quite a bit) Dawne in Regina (we haven't heard from her for a disconcerting length of time) and had a near miss on meeting Joan Erickson and Tegan.

WELLL, a good friend has proposed that she and I go to FL after my life returns to normal (what's normal? I'll settle for less hectic and less confusion), SO - you know we'll head your way.....

I've only met Tia Mary face to face. When are all the rest of you coming back to the Big Easy?? The tourist areas are all put back and pretty, it's the outskirts which are still a disaster.... The Tale of Two Cities.

Is there anything left of Slimedell? Oops, I mean Slidell? - I lived there from 85 til I went into the Army myself.

Threequarters of it is untouched. The rest (including the Town Hall) was completely demolished and the insurance cos. and the national government are taking their sweet time about coughing up the funds to repair it. Remember all those picturesque "fishing camps" on the water? Gone. Waterfront homes? Gone. Miles of wetlands before you get to civilization? Gone.

Oh well.

Well, I can't have made much of an impression. :) I have met Cheryl I, Bobbie V, Margaret, Jelena and a couple more (my memory is not so great at Celebration a couple of years ago. I am really, really hoping to get back again. It was such a memorable experience.

I have met some of the Aussies who used to hang around here - Michelle, Pauline, Nicola and so on.

Most recently, last Christmas I met Pat P and hope to catch up with her and have a ride on her scooter thingy next time I visit my sister in England.

Hope I haven't forgotten anyone. Apologies if so.

Sorry to follow my own. I missed out Lee in Maryland. I don't think she's here much these days, but she does beautiful stitching.

I have met Cheryl, Meg, Elizabeth, Gillian, Rosemary, Robin I., Anita, Evelyn, Linda Moody, and Peggy, some who no longer are active here. I have talked at great length with Trish in Australia and Joyce in So. Africa (got love SKYPE). I have a regular group of friends that I see at Celebrations in May and I keep in touch with a large group of old navy friends.

We will be back for Carnivale sometime in the next few years -- before DH retires in Nov. '09 and we move to the mountains in Lizard Land spring of 2001. I have met Olwyn Mary (of course) and Cheryl I, Joan E. Darla, Rachel (in Scottsdale) and heaven knows who else that I can't remember! I have met LOADS of people who attend CATS but who only lurk here. I must apologize because I can't remember names. OH -- of course, I have met Janet who hardly ever posts but who used to live about 5 miles away from MOI. Well friends,

I guess I have procrastinated long enough on these posts.

I have been blessed by meeting several of the group, and am proud to call them all "friends". In 2003, I think, I was babysitting grandkids in Maryland, and had a great day with Ellice, Caryn Sutherland and Anne Tuscherer. We all tried to enable each other.

In 2004 we went to the Maritimes , and had an out-of-this -world meal at Sheena's home, with Ruby and her husband joining DH and me. Sheena took over, and I talked on the phone to Pat Porter in UK, Mavia and Sharon (Clancy). Man, that is a dinner party I shall never forget!!

In 2005 I had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl I and Bobbie V for lunch. That was superb, also, and we talked non-stop.

This summer I met Joan Erickson in ND for lunch, and she gave me a superb tour of her town. I also managed to get together with Cheryl for a quick lunch in NH.

I am so lucky to be able to travel and meet stitching friends. DH really envies us women the bonds that we have built!

I went to Bill's retirement party at work late September, so he and Ruby are trotting all around now.

I have fond memories of the evening myself - it's odd I think how you don't feel like strangers when you meet.

I am on a real high right now and can't consider sleeping - four of us played bridge tonight in the Women's Team Championship Game and we won the whole ball of wax. I really can't still quite believe it is true, but it is. There were a few long faces amongst the women who feel it is rightfully their game to win, they don't like us nipping at their heels :) There! That's how pleased I am with us.
