OT Change of Plans

This weekend we were supposed to celebrate an early Christmas gift exchange with one of our sons and his new wife. OK, the first change....the weather.....they would be driving from Rockville, MD to our area between Lancaster and Philadelphis, PA. With "feet" of snow forcast in some areas, we decided to postpone those plans. DH and I talked about the "quiet" weekend we'd now be having. Well, DH decided to liven things up....with chest pains at midnight last night! He wanted me to drive him 20 miles to the hospital. I remembered the last time this happened (when I swore I'd never do it again) and called 911. First, the police arrived in two cars, then the ambulance, and then a paramedic. They loaded him into the ambulance, I called my son who lives nearby, and we followed the ambulance to the hospital. It was snowing, but hadn't started to accumulate yet. All the preliminary tests were done, and he was given some nitro and pain medicine. This morning he talked to a cardiologist, who prescribed a stress test....which he has to arrange with his doctor. He called me to come pick him up at 7:15 this a.m. Of course, by that time it was snowing like crazy, so I called our son again, and he drove to the hospital. The good news is that DH and I are now snug at home, the bad news is that he's still having some pain, and it's snowing like crazy!

Please send any extra prayers this way. Thanks.

I'm so glad you called 911 and glad you have someone nearby to drive you, but I'm praying that your DH's pain goes away. I'm sure it's just creating extra anxiety for both of you.

That is really scary. I hope he is ok. If you didn't see this it is worth a few minutes for everyone to watch:

Dh here had his second heart attack a couple months ago. It is a very scary event. Since he has a history I don't mess around and call 911 asap. Take care of yourself. I hope the problem is nothing serious and the weather will clear so at least you know you have help at hand. Hugs, Taria

Howdy!

Best wishes, prayers, and hugs for both of you, Alice. Cover up in a quilt and take care of each other.

Hopes for a Merry Christmas,

R/Sandy - not going to mention that it was 60* today w/ bright sunshine...

It needs a quilt, a good old movie, and a pot of soup, maybe with garlic bread on the side......

And of course prayers heading your way as well.

Thanks, Taria, for posting that link. It was very informative. We did do the 911 and the aspirin. I agree that it is very scary to go through...I was pretty much a wreck!

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers. Yesterday we just relaxed and tried to catch up on the missed sleep. He's still having some slight pain, and we will call the cardiologist first thing tomorrow morning. We did go to church this morning. It's a sunny, bright beautiful day out; with about 12" of fresh snow. Son #3 will be arriving this afternoon with his fiancee, and son # 2 and his wife will be coming from MD for a few days as soon as roads are passable. Son #1 is the great guy who did all the driving back and forth to the hospital. He and his wife and 2 boys live just 2 blocks away. It'll be great to have everyone together.
