Re: coming to Raleigh/Durham, NC

Woo Hoo, Mim! Give a shout as you go by - maybe I'll hear it!

In Raleigh, there are two that I can think of:

ArchAngel (N. Raleigh)

Bernina World of Sewing (NW)

There is also a JoAnn's near ArchAngels, but it is awful!

In Cary (a suburb-that-wants-to-be-a-city SW of Raleigh) you will find my fave LQS: Etcetera Crafts

226 E. Chatham St. in Cary, 467-7636.

There is also a JoAnn's there on Walnut St. that is much nicer than the other one.

I don't know what's in Durham, but in Carrboro (S of Chapel Hill, which is S of Durham) is Thimble Pleasures

and Mulberry Silks. This store is not a quilting store, but a high-end fashion fabrics store, however, they do have some wonderful cottons there, and the mall it is in - Carr Mill Mall - is a converted tobacco warehouse, and pretty cool. The mall also has a great eatery - Elmo's - and across the parking lot is my favorite rug store - Nomadic Trading Company.

That ought to keep you busy for a while!

I second the vote for Etc. crafts. It is fabulous, but unfortunately it is closed on Sunday. My favorite in Raleigh is Bernina World of Sewing (I don't know about the hours of operation). It is the closest to the airport too. Have a great time.

Not sure If I asked this before...but anyone near Raleigh...do you know where I could buy sweatshirts with one of the local High School's name on them???....I"ve checked their site but got nothing...thought they might have a store ( although I"ve never seen a HS with a store selling sweatshirts before) ...In great need of the Needham Broughton HS sweatshirts.. Thanks...Mary

I don't know anything about Broughton, but my kids' elementary and middle schools both sell their own sweatshirts, T-shirts and shorts with the school logos on them. I suggest calling Broughton and asking.
