OT: Am I ever so thankful

Today I have so much to be thankful. My younger sister (age 12) and her friend were working on a school project in my parents back yard yesterday when some how not really sure how it all happened I guess my sister thought the pond was farther away but with all the rain it brung the pond inward more. Any how she was taking pictures of the grass (tall grass you know the kind by the ponds really can't think of the name of it still shaken up right now writing this). Any how she fell....right onto the pond. Of course with the warm 50 - 60 degree weather we have been having the ponds are not frozen and down she went. Thankful her friend also the same age was able to remain calm and use her head and help my sister. At one time when my sister came back up she was under the ice. If the friend would have paniced and ran to the house to get my father my sister wouldn't be here with us today. We are thankful to have my sister and we are thankful to the friend. My sister is doing okay just still scared.

Holy cow, Chrissy, how scary that must have been for all of you! Prayers that your sister doesn't get sick or anything as a result of this accident, and thank God for her friend's presence of mind to save her life! She deserves an award for that!!! :*)

Chrissy, I can't imagine how you must be feeling, and your parents also. My stomach got all upset just reading about it. Thank goodness for her friend and the guardian angel looking after her. I know it will take a while to calm down from this. After the tornado here it took months (years) to calm down the panic attacks I would get thinking about my kids and what might have happened. My oldest DS and I were in a bad accident when he was 6 and totaled a car on rain slick roads. I still get flashbacks when I am driving in the rain and he is 32 years old now. Hugs, Sandy

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I had my sister over here for a few hours tonight. She is doing well but as expected still shooken up. There was a movie on with a boy diving into a lake and she needed the channel changed. It is going to take her awhile but with the support of her friends and family she will get through. We are overly thankful for her friend. I am so surprised because the friend that was with her suffers from panic attacks all the time and in this situation she remained calm and did what she had to do to save my sister. She is an angel!
