So much going on

Hi everyone. I hope everyone is doing ok and not having any problems from the ice storm. I talked to my parents yesterday and they had been without power since Monday. Mom got inventive and brought bags of icicles in to put in their freezer to keep stuff cold. The chief of police in a small town a few miles from them was out on emergency call putting out traffic cones around tree limbs when one fell on him and killed him, he was only 39. It has been really bad. I just think we should send prayers, good thoughts or whatever you're comfortable with, to all those affected by the storms.

Thinks are finally slowing down a bit for me here at home. I spent a week going out in the rain/sleet looking at houses. DH and I have decided that it's time for us to buy a house and have more room to moved around without stepping on each other. So I spent days with our realtor looking at houses. Finally found one that is as near to perfect for our needs as possible. The contract has been signed and we're just waiting for the financing to go through. So we're in the process of packing up to move. One of the things that had to get packed up to make room was my HQ16. So I won't be able to quilt any quilts until we get moved. We're supposed to close on March 7th. Can't wait.

It has a full house basement with some of it partitioned off for 2 bedrooms, laundry room/kitchen and a full bath. But it still has a huge open area for my quilting stuff. We're going to finish the apartment out for DD and DGS to live in. I will have so much more room. DH is going to build me some nice shelves. I can't wait.

Our youngest son is getting married in June so I have to get their wedding quilt done. I was ready to start on it, had the fabric and everything then they changed the colors. So I had to get all different fabric. I told them that they couldn't change their mind about the colors anymore or they would get a quilt that won't match their wedding colors. Of course we all had a great laugh over that.

I just scimmed over a lot of the posts tonight since there were so many of them. Karen, QoS, I hope you are feeling better. I'm keeping you in my prayers. Dreamweaver, Sunny and everyone else who are going through some tramautic times right now, you are in my prayers. I hope whatever your burden is, it is lifted and sorted out soon.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hi while I had a few minutes before going to bed. You all take care and God bless you all. Have a great weekend.

Hugs, Mika

The move sounds exciting, and I know you'll be glad to get into a larger place. It'll be hectic the next few weeks, so remember to take a little time for yourself when you can. You deserve it! Enjoy.

Sounds wonderful! Hope everything goes smoothly--and March'll be here before you know it.
