A friend sent me these and they are just fabulous photographs of a terrifying sight!!!
Oh since sending that I have been told this was a hoax email that has been going around for a while and was NOT taken in Southern Alberta last week. Sorry everyone - but still amazing pictures!!!!

Those are some aesome looking pictures. Beautiful country too. Thanks for sharing.
To be honest with you, those pictures have been floating around the internet for years. I can tell you living in Calgary, that our skies have been grey for weeks. No blue, no gold, no colour. Just grey. Last summer summer those pictures were mailed to me saying they were the hurricane storms from the east coast...
Wow!! It looks your friend likes to stormchase. What great photography. Thanks for sharing.

Just read your disclaimer. I wonder where they were taken. Those are some wild storms. Think they're real or computer enhanced? Hmmm I just know I wouldn't want to see that coming toward me, and being in Kansas I've seen my share of scary skies.

We have blue skies today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see the sun and everything! Woohoo! (not saying this very loudly at all). The river is at an all time high. I can't believe how deep it is. You can't een see the weir, it is completely leveled off. They showed it on the news last night. There's supposed to be about a 10' drop, if not more. I've never gotten close enough to it to know for sure. Some towns south of Calgary a few miles have a heck of a mess to clean up, along with homes along the rivers here in Calgary. The ground around my house finally had enough as did our foundation and about a cup of water seeped in last night. I can't complain. A towel soaked it up.
Those are truly incredible and scary looking pic's. A few of them reminded me and did look like the May 3, 1999 tornadoes that devasted Oklahoma City. On that day they were that eerie looking and that BIG. There was a total of like 70 that day here in the state.

Totally amazing photography! I love storms and fascinated especially with tornadoes, and I have yet to see a REAL one in person. I am the person you see checking out the clouds instead of taking cover when there are storm warnings out, and I would love to go storm chasing sometime. We get a few tornadoes here in Illinois, but they seem to always go around my area. Thanks for sharing those photos! Linda C Illinois
I posted some pictures of the river in Calgary. I took these today. The water is running very fast still and is sooooooooo dirty. Normally you can see the big river rocks laying on the bottom of the river. There is a building on the left side of one picture and the tennants on the bottom floor lost everything. The water went inside their apartments and filled them up by about 3 feet. Their fridges were floating! It's a hot beautiful day today, but we're expecting showers tonight and rain later this week. Let's just hope it's not another 150 mm's (which works out to about 10") in a 24 hour period again.
