Leaving List

Until the children stop playing with our sewing site, I won't be back.

I feel it's probably better to stay and drown them out with sewing chatter...

Teri, I like Kate wish you would stay. The children, as you call them are a pain but if people leave it just gives the ability to completely High jack this group. If everyone completely ignores them, like any other spoiled brat having a tantrum they eventually give up. Please hang in there, we need you. Juno

I agree, Kate. Of course, I've also got a huge kill-file for this and several other news groups. So I know I don't see nearly as many of these cross-posted nonsensical posts as some do. Once is all I need to add them to my file. ;-)

Don't go, Teri. I've been the one funneling most of the spam into your group and I was just about to stop.

Meanwhile, it would be better for you to stop reading and posting through Google and instead subscribe to a news service (some of which are free) and get a client with good filtering capabilities (some of which are also free). That way, you could filter out me and most of the other spamming assholes and utilize usenet for the purposes it was intended.

I'm seeing very little of it these days. One of the few advantages of using Microsoft and a dial-up ISP. I've just killfile as I see them and now it's down to having to only killfile an average of one bonehead per day.

But you don't need a dial-up connection to do it, only a usenet server and a decent usenet client.

And you have got yourself royally disliked and despised in the process. There are certain people whose posts I do not open, and would not have opened this one except for the subject. If you wish to redeem yourself, take out ALL of the cross-postings and spam, and, in future, post only messages which are either relevant to sewing or in reply to another relevant post already on here. There is a time and a place for everything, and this is NOT the place for pornography, politics or other spam. Some OT posts are acceptable, usually from long-time posters who have helped others with questions etc., but WE DO NOT LIKE SPAM.

Remember what your friends' mothers used to tell you. "If you can't play nicely, you can't play here!"

It is possible to killfile in Google groups, but AFAIK only using Firefox

Likewise, 30-odd posts this morning, and all genuine posters. I don't usually advocate the use of killfiles or plonk rules, I have little difficulty in skimming over the trolls, but I do KF here where the signal to noise ratio is troublesome.

You make the mistake of assuming the trolls care about what you, I or any of the other genuine posters to this NG think. *NO* interaction of any sort is the best response.

You are right of course. Have you done a nymshift? I'm sure I killfiled you a few days ago for crossposting.

do i even want to know what you're talking about? i have crossposting filtered & i'm not seeing anything except a stray spam or two... which i can ignore or killfile. seriously, Google Groups is a horrible way to read usenet. i don't understand why anyone would put up with it when there are better free alternatives that make usenet a nice experience. lee

Hi Joanne,

No, I don't sew. I just don't want to see anyone leaving usenet because of me. :-)

P.S. If you would send me a naked pic of you, Joanne, I'd greatly appreciate it. TIA. :-)
