Off to the beach

Hi everyone, I'm off to the beach for two weeks and then to babysit for

6 days. I'm taking my machine, fabric and patterns. DH will probably say there's no room. OF course there's room, I need them with me. I usually can get more accomplished out there in 1 week than I can at home in 1 month. See you when I get home. I will follow along ,but not answer, through google groups. Juno

It's really nice on this coast right now, I'm sorely tempted to take tomorrow off and go play.

Looks good to me. I think you should go. Here's what we're looking at:Rain in the forecast doesn't mean a thing out there. It may or may not happen. Got the sweatshirts,jeans, shorts and short sleeves packed. Then again, I pack exactly the same way in the middle of summer.

Since your closer to Beverly than to me, why not take a quick trip to Cannon Beach with her. Cocktails at sunset. I'll just have mine 3 hours earlier. Juno

Juno I hope you are able to swing by Chatham for dinner at the Captains' Table! We had a memorable mean there, found it quite by accident.

Beverly, wishing this danged market would settle down...

Sure Joanne, c'mon up! ;-) High 60s on the Oregon coast is PERFECT beach weather.

DH's sister and brother in law usually take us out for dinner one night perhaps there!!!1 I sure have to agree with you about the market. It's a big worry for everyone no matter where your money might be. Juno

It has several mixed reviews online, but we dined outside and found it to be delightful.

Indeed! A year ago, I was pretty sure our savings would easily outlast me, and promised both my grandchildren a generous amount for college. Now??? Not so much....

I love the Oregon coast. I still have some shells, bits of driftwood, etc., picked up in Lincoln City many years ago - 30 maybe. Once had a building lot between the beach and the highway. Traded it for income property here. A good move, it turns out.

With the stock market in the shape that it's in, I'm glad we also have rental property. That's really inflation-proof around here. So far, anyway. My stock is looking dismal.

Lincoln City is mostly a big strip outlet mall and casino now, I never go there. The northern coast has always been high on my list of places I would love to have a second home. Not that I can afford it.

Mine, too. I'm almost exclusively in mutual funds, balanced

50/50 between stocks and bonds. The stock side is taking a bath. Wish I has some extra cash, right about now be a great time to buy. ;-}

Hope you have a great time! It was 31 F this morning here and ice on all the puddles (because it has been raining for 3 days). Beach for us will be next year.

Kirsten (Still unpacking although I mostly finished the sewing room yesterday. But no time to sew in the near future)
