OT: painting leather

I have an old leather couch that has discoloration in a 3x3 inch area to one side. It's in good shape otherwise. It's a black couch and the said patch looks gray. Is there any paint that works on leather? I don't want to re-upholster this chair but I want to somehow blend this patch in with the rest of the couch.

Thanks.

Black sharpie marker. Seriously.

Black shoe polish might do the trick

It doesn't cover fading on my shoes. Black permanent marker does.

There used to be a polish called "Scuff-Cote" that was made especially for re-dying damaged shoes, but I haven't seen it lately.

Shoe dye? You might need to repaint the whole thing so it matches...
