Muahahaha

This is a great looking sock. The more I read about sock knitting and look at the sock yarn, the more tempted I am to begin knitting socks. Keep up the evil enabling everyone and you will get me. Carol in TN

My LittleKnits order arrived today. For me only three balls of Regia yarn (one pair per ball). My friend ordered some of the froofy Fleece Artist sock yarn so the box was fairly large.

Yay for more socks! And so much for my renewed NoMoreYarn resolution :D

Wooly when I went into the Loom, our local yarn supplier, to pick up the newest Spin off magazine, I walked out with three balls of Soccka, lovely colours. Otto looked at me and told me that he knew I would not come out with just the magazine.....We need to have some colours around to feast our eyes on, right..LOL

Well, sometimes. I have more yarn stashed up now than I can reasonably knit up anytime in the next few years. I do knit out of the stash, but I also knit the new stuff that comes in. There are days I wish I could bring myself to be a machine-knit-cut-sew sort of person just so I could USE IT FASTER.

Alas, I enjoy the knitting too much :D

Yay is right! More and more socks!! Speaking of........... I finally finished up a pair that has been gathering dust on the needles and dived right into another pair. I already finished the first sock in ONE day!! Couldn't believe it. But the reason is.... I love the colours in the yarn. Dusty green and blue, even the brown looks good. It's self patterning, very dishy, complete with a silver lurex thread. The silver doesn't show very well in the picture (pout). I'm going to post a pic of that sock into my Yahoo album - right now.... here it is!! ;D

I love knit socks - also knitting socks. I have one tencel/merino sock done and ready to start in on number 2. These are short socks - only a couple of inches of ribbing above where I start the heel flap. This yarn feels great - will see how it wears. When I get its buddy finished, I will post them.

And so much for resolutions about buying yarn. I did the same thing this year - resolved to finish projects before buying more yarn - however ......... You won't find me taking pictures of my stash to share --- too scarey.

I'm still waiting on mine, but according to the email I got on Tuesday it was shipped Monday or Tuesday (a USPS shipping label was printed on Monday), so any day now. I ordered 3 balls of the Regia (Circus, Jazz, and Orion colors) and one hank of the Supersock from Cherry Hill. Of course, the Supersock colors I really wanted were gone, so I took what I could get I got my last Elann order last week; 3 balls of sock yarn and 8 balls of the Preuvian Collection Uros Aran in a yummy plum color.

Socks are great! I've turned into a true "serial knitter" - thanks to Deb Stoller for that term - when it comes to socks. I finish one, and the next is on the needles immediately afterwards. My husband will tell you that I'm more of a parallel knitter, since I have multiple projects going at once

I never make resolutions, New Year's or otherwise. That way I'm never disappointed with myself when I don't keep them :-)

Hi Shelagh,

I love the colors in your sock. Now, I have a really silly question. Since I can't knit now, what other then socks could I crochet with the self patterning yarn? I love all the colors that you gals have shown in your socks and would love to make something with it.

Now, a not buy yarn resolution isn't for me, went out and bought ten more skeins at AC Moore yesterday, I wish they would stop having great sales and coupons at least for a few weeks.

Hugs,

Nora

I know that responding to oneself is looked down on; I can live with that

The mail just arrived, and my box from Little Knits was there. Woohoo!! The colors are better than on the site. Unfortunately for me, my older daughter has decided that she wants socks made with the Orion (which is the one I fell in love with first) and the Cherry Tree Hill yarn. Darn, I have to buy more yarn

There was also a note saying to check the site for more Regia going on sale soon...evil enabling sure to follow...bwahahahahaha!!!!

And, and , and.... if you get stuck, you've got everyone HERE to help, and if you get REALLY stuck, I'm an hour or so away, grin! (an excuse to get together, yes?) Hugs, Noreen

That *is* a beautiful sock. I'm just about to cast on my first pair, probably some time this weekend if all goes well. As a crocheter of very few knitterly talents, this is a huge step for me, but I figured I better just jump in and see where my mistakes are so I get that much closer to fixing them.

I'm planning on using worsted weight first for a pair of blah socks, so I can really see my work and practice. I can't wait to use some of the sock yarns in my stash, though. They always seem so much prettier knitted than crocheted.
