Playing with maille, I made this Cleopatra bracelet from an old WAJ:
I just had to try making an abacus pendant:
These are some of the projects I made to make with my kids' classes:
Our first project was the basic bracelet:
Then we made trees:
Next, we made earrings to go with their trees:
My daughter ran into one of my students, in the bathroom, and she told me that the girl was admiring her earrings in the mirror and said, "Your mom's class is my favorite!"
Now they're working on their heart earrings:
Our next project is going to be these coil bracelets:
Since we're not going to have time to do everything, I've been playing and making stuff to show them. I thought, at the end of the semester, I'll put each project in a gift bag and they get to pick out a bag to take home. I have about 24 students between the two classes, so I should be able to manage this. In addition to the above, I've made these:
I also made this crazy necklace, and hope to have time to teach them some of the elements so that they can make their own. I wore this last week, and got lots of comments on it:
A couple of other things, I had a lady ask me for polar bears in green shirts. Once I started playing, I couldn't stop:
Also, I've made this beaded donut, but want to fringe it. Just not sure what to fringe it with:
That's about it for now unless you want dog stories. The Brillo dog is fitting way to well into our family. Having two 60 lbs dogs, it sure is fun to have one that fits in a lap (comfortably)! A friend of mine bought me a bed for little Brillo, but Brillo prefers a lap or the sofa, and Spike sent his Aunt Janice a thank you note for Brillo's bed, even if it's not quite his size:
I think that my friend is trying to talk me into keeping Brillo. She says I need a little one.
