Gorgeous! I love your sparkling stone set (I betcha anything that the only reason it didn't sell is because people aren't expecting ses from you... it's GORGEOUS) and I'm thrilled beyond measure to see the attention your focals are getting!

Thanks girl! I had a hard time picking a favorite this week. I liked 'em all and wanted to keep most of them for myself. ;)

Aiden seems to be doing better this week. Looks like I got the break I was hoping for!

Thanks Patti! I had a hard time capturing their depth and sparkle. They really are much prettier in person.

Yeah, you're probably right. I don't make sets very often because I usually don't enjoy making them. Probably should just stick to my focals then, huh? LOL!

I am so excited that things are starting to rock and roll for me on Ebay again. Just hope it keeps it up! ;) It's so hard for me to keep auctions on all the time. I dont't have much time these days out in the studio, so the fact that my auctions are getting multiple bids is really helping. I am currently in search of a part-time nanny, but of course, that costs money too. Wish me luck on finding the right person!

I think it helps that you are constantly posting auctions and they are all different. Keeps the interest level up. I love your focals, but the couple of sets you've posted have been very nice. I'd keep doing them every now and again or maybe do smaller matching beads for earring sets.

Hope Aiden's better - Avner's got eyeteeth coming in and it's not been fun. Thank goodness for Hyland's Teething Tablets and baby Ibuprofen.

Take care, B.

Hylands Teething Tablets are a Mommy's Godsend. They work on adults, too:)

I think you may as well stick to focals, because you love making them, and it shows... but of course if the glass moves you to make a set, don't hold back! Just don't make yourself do it if you aren't *really* feeling it.

I don't think you'll have any problems holding your own on eBay. You're getting multiple bids at a time when a lot of people are seeing decreased action... that's a good sign.

As for keeping stuff up all the time... ouch, that IS the hard part! I use timed auctions because I simply don't have the opportunity to sit down and list something every night. *Making* the beads is another story... I hope you find someone good, and soon! Have you placed an ad on Craig's List? We got a lot of responses out of that, and of the dozen, perhaps one or two were really promising. An ad in a local grocery store might be good, too... you could end up with someone in your neighborhood.

Gnawing on frozen, wet washcloths saved Manda's life and our nerves during that tough time. I bought a couple dozen stripey white washcloths at Costco or somewhere, washed them thoroughly, and put them in the fridge while still wet, in individual baggies. Easy to toss a few into the cooler with a bottle or two.

Because they looked different than all our other washcloths and dishtowels, they never got mixed up with them. She would gnaw on them, and I think the texture and the cold helped. It was nice that they melted relatively quickly and could become a cooling wipe for all that drool.

And to prove that I am a total tightwad: we still have the same washcloths, although they're pretty tattered by now. (Same dishtowels as well, and we use them as cloth napkins - it's an old country thing)

Thanks Barbara! This week I'm having a particularly hard time getting anything on Ebay. It's Thursday and still no new auctions for me. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some on tomorrow night.

I actually have been Hyland Teething Tablets for quite a while now. The only thing is that with the molars, they really didn't seem to give him much relief. I've been sticking with Infant Tylenol or Infant Motrin. The Motrin seems to help more, but I can't give him a full dose. If I do, he's bouncing off the walls with energy...very hyperactive. My Mom tells me that is what codine did to me when I was a child. Go figure.

I think I may have to start using timed auctions. I just hate having to pay the extra money...I mean I know it's not much, but Ebay already gets so much of my money that I really don't want to give them even a penny more. LOL!

I did actually post an ad on Craig's List this weekend and have had several good responses. Not a ton of responses overall though, but I was really specific on what I was looking for. I'm sure that has something to do with the small number of responses. The bad thing is I need some uninterrupted time in the evening to do some phone interviews and I can't seem to get my husband to get his butt home after work. He ends up finally getting in around 7:00 or later and by then, I'm having to give Aiden his supper, we have to eat, and then get Aiden to bed...and Mom is the only one who can do that. Sometimes it's 9:30 before I finally get back downstairs and I don't want to call them too late because several of them have children too and I don't want to wake anyone. Hopefully, he'll get his butt home tomorrow at a decent time and I can make some phone calls before someone else snatches these nannies up. -- Paulette SPIglass Studio ~ miniature works of art in glass

Paulette,

If you aren't already, perhaps you might give timed auctions a go? They've been a real lifesaver for me... the extra dime is SO worth it, to be able to put a bunch up and then not have to deal with it for two weeks!

Oooh argh, good luck! Tell him he'd better get his ass home or you're done working and he can try to pay all the bills by himself. That usually makes them pay attention... he can't MAKE you work, and then the whole burden is on him. Immovable object and etc. etc.

Hope you find someone soon!
