AD - "Letting Go" and More!

Hi Y'all,

I've just listed 6 new auctions tonight. This week I tried to let go of my pre-conceived notion that a bead must be round, or even symmetrical for that matter. The results were a few very unique bead sets. There are spiraled cones and a fun set of bicones, but the real fun started when I really "Let Go"! There are hand pressed stone shaped beads and beads that look like folded strata. I have to say though, that the set I named "Letting Go" is my favorite pick of the week.

Why don't you click on over and take a peek....

Thanks Stephanie!!! I guess I've just watched too many episodes of X-Files....LOL! I'm really into anything UFOish.

I like them all, but I think Stones is my favorite. But I don't know, the Letting Go set is pretty cool too. I'm still waiting for my torch to arrive, ack! But it won't be long now.

I love them ALL, Dawn.

That wasn't a UFO in the backyard, it was just me with my nose against the window again.

You're the Raku' Queen.

agree with Su, I like them all. But I really had a good chuckle about 'letting go' because they look a bit like Royal Poinciana seeds which I was thinking might very well be drilled into spacer bars.

(no, it wasn't me in the back yard, but if I have ever liked UFOs, those ones I really do like).

Thanks Su!!! You're cracking me up! Here I had my bags all packed in case the aliens were planning an abduction, and it was only you....LOL!

Thanks Maren! I really like the "spikiness" of stick pearls, (I think I just made up a word...) and thought I'd try some glass beads with the same spiky look to them. Those seeds sound very interesting. My Aunt gave me a necklace when I was about 15 years old, with what looked like different types of seeds. If I can find it, maybe I'll post a picture and see if someone could tell me what they are.

Hi, Dawn, I adore Raku as well, and I love your new bead shapes, especially "letting go." I only wish there was a way to get the bright colors to pop in fused glass, maybe they will develop something in the future. Patti

Thanks Patti! I had someone else ask me once how I thought raku would work for fusing. Since it's the rapid chilling that makes the colors pop, I'm not sure it would work in a fusing process. But I wonder what it would look like to use some raku shards........hmmmmm....

Thanks David! The idea for "Folded Strata" actually came to me when I screwed up a bead from the "Letting Go" set. I just love it when those little "happy accidents" happen!

Dawn -- thanks for the post. I really enjoyed looking, and after looking at Strata Folds, now I want an omlette!!!

LOL!....Actually, an omelet does sound good! I thought about naming that set Raku Tacos, but opted for a little bit more sophisticated approach....Heehee! (It ain't easy being cheesy.) If you only knew some of the names for bead sets that pop into my head. I had a set of cones that I wanted to name "Madonna's Bra Cups", but the more reserved side of me talked me out of it.

By the way, it's good to see you back here!

Dawn -- I've always found that letting people inside my head (giving them their real names) is always good for sales!! Other people see what we see. However, I can understand the use of restraint. I don't practice it much myself, but I do understand it.

LOL
