AD - What a Difference a Bead Makes!

Trying to get my "groove" back on the torch has been a little frustrating. Sometimes it goes like it should, but I've been making a nice little collection of out of control eye beads. I made one last night and everything looked really good in the flame, but you never know until you open the kiln. I had to brace myself with a cup of coffee before I opened it, just in case it wasn't as cool when it was...... well, cool! I like the results. What a difference that made to my attitude today.

Good Grief -- a color combination that actually makes me like one of these beads!! I'm just getting suprised, suprised suprised (say it with a Gomer Pyle voice) all over the place!

I love to surprise! Maybe some day I'll put together all my bad color combo Evil Eye beads and post a picture just for fun. I've been a lampworker for years, but returning to the torch after two years, I forgot one important thing - just 'cause it's glowing pretty oranges and yellows when it's in the flame, doesn't mean it's going to be that color when it cools - especially when orange and yellow glass were not actually used. Yesterday evening I sat down with a picture and chose the colors I wanted before I started the bead. It made a big difference.
