Anklet length question

What size anklet would you all wear? I've been getting orders for anklets with the spiral stitch and I've found the easiest way is to have someone measure their ankle and go from there. Does this sound right? So, this means every one I've made is custom but it would be nice to make some up for "extra" Maybe a chain like for the braclets so it's adjustable?

Helen, I make custom fit anklets as well and noticed that the average ankle is about 9 to 10 inches. My plan was to make a 9" anklet with a flat "S" clasp (made by me with wire) on one end and a chain link on the other, making sure the chain is at least an inch long. Might even make it a little longer so I can add a charm or bead to the end of it.

I've been wanting to do this for quite a few things (adjustment chains). Anyone have suggestions on

  1. size and style of chain (links have to be a good size to hold a clasp)
  2. vendor / supplier
  3. how to finish the end (a bead or charm, or just let it dangle)

TIA

Deirdre

No, they're in proportion - there's no fluid. My wrists are just strangely small. The rest of me is large.
