Vitrail Medium II (vintage) Alexandrite Fire Opal Purple Velvet Tanzanite Merion AB (vintage) Rose (vintage) Capri Blue AB Clear AB Pacific Opal I guess that's enough. Pacific Opal is a relatively new color, sort of a seafoam green.

Ok, I've gotta get some Swaro opals just to see them! I've never seen those or that Purple Velvet.

I feel so out of touch.

Purple Velvet is a brand spanking new colour, somewhere between amythest and a sort of indigo/violet kind of thing. I've never seen it "in the flesh", I was just reading ana rticle about Swarovski colours in an old B&B this arvo.

Yeah -- when Purple Velvet and Crystal Copper came ut, I quickly ordered some of both -- more of the PV than tne CC. (I am, admittedly, a Swar-ho.)

I loved the CC far more, which surprised me because of my addiction to purple.

I went back and bought a bunch more Crystal Copper in various shapes and sizes. (Glad I did, too, because I can't spend ONE CENT on beads now, not ONE -- AUGH!!) The PV was so dark it seemed almost -- but not quite -- like Jet to me, and I buy crystals for their light-play.

Just a word to the already-wise.......make sure you buy a little, or look at 'em > x-no-archive: yes On Fri, 4 Aug 2006 19:01:49 -0400, "Beadbimbo" > wrote: >

Yeah. I've wanted one for a long time now and it was my treat to myself after our last bead show.

Approximately 60 colours, various effects and shapes, I may need a second case by the time I get them all!

It's funny, well not in the haha funny mode....but last night I made up a quickie pair of dangle earrings using fire opal and siam red bicones hanging on a simple SS swirly finding. So many people commented on them today, it really convinced me of the wow factor of fire opal.

Aaaargh you baaastard!

I was going to behave this week (having spent $250+ at my LBS last week), but I went and splurged on Swarovski, specifically CC and "olivine"*, after the discusison here.

CC is goooooooorgeous!! I bought some 5mm bicones and a vermeil clasp. I'm going to make a RAW bracelet.

The purple velvet is gorgeous too, but they didn't have a clasp I liked so I didn't get any.

  • I put "olivine" in inverted commas, because it amuses me that they have colours called "olivine" and "peridot", when speaking geologically they are THE SAME THING!!!
