Thanks, M! Have you been making jewelry with your sister's beads? That would be a fun collaboration (I know, cuz I bought my little sis a torch so I could make stuff with her beads, LOL).

That reminds me, today I found myself trying to convince my older brother to try wire work. He has always wanted to work with silver and this might be the way to get him into the fun! He could, if he wanted to, wire wrap the agate and tiger eye pieces the other brother is hoarding, and I could add them to my stash, but we arent discussing things that far ahead yet. :-) Diana
No, I haven't tried jewelry making. I'm not artistically inclined. In fact, I am in awe of all artists. If anything, I'd like to borrow one of my sister's looms and try some weaving.
M
There ya go! There are several beadweavers on this newsgroup, so ask away if you have any questions about getting started!

Welcome from one newbie to another.

Pete is real good with his hands. I'm going to get him working with wire one of these days. He's good with leather.

You have a talent lurking inside, you just have to let it out. Don't worry about being good at first, just try something. If it doesn't speak to you, move on to something else. Forget about that old saying that inside everyone is a skinny person trying to get out, it's an artist in there that is waiting for the chance.

If I find that inner artist and let him out and he just happened to be skinny, life would be good.
MThat could be quite interesting. Those materials all seem to just cry to work with beads. Diana
LOL! Well.. skinny or not, let that guy come out and play. The more, the merrier. Diana
Hey, it's a dream! If I could get my inner artist out, there'd probably be less of me too. Hmmm, the ArtKins diet?

Sign me up!
MPete and I are so very different from each other. In how we process things, in our manual dexterity, etc. We balance each other very well. When we began to get serious, he would help with cleaning and would often do some artistic rearrangement of treasures. It took some letting go to not have to be "the artistic one". He's got great esthetic sense. I love working with him, because we complement one another.
And hearing about the many people who work together with their spouse/partner, has got me thinking more and more about a fusion of skills. Collaboration. Should at least give it a shot.

Over in RCTQ we tend to point at them and laugh. heehee Diana
Yes, I'm a slightly rotund dude who just retired and, with the help of my beautiful wife, put together a very cool (we think) loft in a 110 year old building. Guess I'll start signing my name instead of initial. I hate confusion.

Welcome, Mike:)
Oh dear, another Mike. Fortunately Mike of the SH*D doesn't post, so the newer Mike won't have to make himself look distinctively different.
And welcome, Mike. I am sure that you have that muse hidden somewhere, just don't tell your wife!

Cool. My house is about the same age as yours. We're still working hard to get it in order. Last weekend I finally finished the kitchen. We still haven't got a master bath yet, though.
