Cindy,
The beads finally arrived. It seems they took a little detour to a US Customs inspection facility. They have been inspecting some incoming international mail. My guess is that someone didn't know what lampwork on the customs label meant. Also since the beads are strung on wire the wire would have shown up in an X-ray.
The envelope had been slit open and the box inside had the end torn so they could see what was inside. Then the envelope was taped up and the package sent on its way. Fortunately the beads are still in perfect condition. They look great.
A suggestion for everyone shipping to the US, put your beads on string instead of wire. It was leaked about ten days ago that Customs was doing these inspections and opening letters and packages entering the US. bleah.
Thanks for the lovely beads Cindy! It was worth the wait.
