COMPLETELY OT - Stickers!

Wacky Packages.

My mother worked for a bindery in the late '60s/early '70s, and would occasionally bring home "samples" of things (mainly writing tablets). We had sheets of Wacky Packages which, of course, we kids would cut up and use. Imagine what they would be worth now (although I don't know how I could have saved them for all these years)!

It's all a matter of perspective. A car, or a computer, or a pop song from the

1980s *is* old, because generations come and go so quickly on those things. A book or a piece of furniture -- or a BEAD! -- is likely to hold up much better.

You're almost the exact same age as my oldest son. He was born 12/29/81. You could be my daughter!

Isn't that the truth. I remember when I was in grade school and the talked about the new millennium. The year 2000. I remember thinking "I'll be 49 then. I'll be so old I won't even care." Boy has my thinking changed! Barbara Dream Master

Ooh, that one just went into the button list! I think it's going to be a bumper sticker, too.

Several members of both sides of my family have lived past 100. And several members of both sides have died young. So -- which set of genes did I inherit? I won't know until I croak, I guess. Or until I pass 85 or 90 without croaking.

Another bumper-sticker style quip on this topic:

"You can't help the face you're born with, but you make the face you die with..."

I love tracing the laugh lines around Genny's eyes with my finger.

And I tell her she has a leprechaun nose. (It turns up at the end).

Smile, everyone. You are doing slow self-sculpture.

And many happy returns, Genny. I meant to say that this morning.

A smile that shows in the eyes makes anyone beautiful. Laugh lines are something I accept gratefully. They tell a tale Im proud of.

Try to tell that to the folks who tell models how to pose. Shudder... all that physical perfection being shown as haughty, aloof and without a sense of humor.

Ive seen a few pictures of the denizens of RCB... true beauty being sculpted here.. you know how to laugh, at life, at yourselves... you are beautiful. :-)

At work one day I passed a woman wearing a genuine smile. Its so rare to see them on anyone over the age of 8 that I paused and remarked to myself that whoever she was married to was a lucky person. I love the idea we sculpt ourselves. Diana

I remember when Seth (my 21 yr old) was nursing one day and something caught his attention. He had

4 very sharp teeth at the time. He clamped very tightly to the nipple as he jerked his head to the side............. Barbara Dream Master

Leer lines are okay too. They both come from reaching for the JOY in life!

We had a lovely time. Went out for brunch as a local place that does gangbusters omelettes, went to see "Whale Rider" -- which we both liked very much -- had fresh salmon and green salad for dinner, and a few extracurricular activities along the way.

A most satisfying birthday. And she liked her presents, too.

I like this version, too. Better a leer than a jeer.
