I felt like I was in the audience. You have a singing voice equal to Kermits. Thank you. :-) Diana

To answer your question about lampworkers taking special requests. Some do and some don't. Just like any other art, artists have their reasons. I take some orders. I want to make sure my customers are happy. I did an order last night after someone saw one of my fish beads. She told me what she wanted, I made two, and took them to her today. She couldn't decide so she purchased both!

I'm happy to do requests, and no, I've never heard of what your DH describes! Un-annealed beads can explode, though even that's rare... usually they just crack in two.

If the beads are annealed properly there shouldn't be any worry that they will explode. I have been making"bubble Beads" for about a year now and have yet to have one explode or break.
