What defines a newbie, Starlia? :)
I am... just took a class last fall, and got my setup going in March. Is that new enough? :-) Goodness knows the stuff I'm making looks like it! :-)

Good question. It's someone that has the setup or one on order. They can be lampworking for up to 4 months.
Does that help qualify anyone?
I am. Lampworking for about 1 month. Newbie at this newsgroup too though I was reading it in 1997-98.

Welcome Lise!
I love your name, which is similar to my mother's name. Stick around and tell us about yourself, and share pictures of your lampwork. We're a very friendly audience, and we can offer suggestions to help you improve very quickly. That's not because we're so kind - it's because we love having lots of pretty lampwork beds to choose from!

My newsgroups are apparently not reaching the outside world again, so I apologize if this ends up coming out twice.
I got my setup in March. Goodness knows my stuff *looks* newbie. :-) Does that qualify?

LOL!! Thank you for the welcome Kathy! I posted a short intro, I think we were typing at the same time.
Lise
I guess a small intro is in order. My earlier message was under the name of my husband so now the heading will be my own.
I used to be a beader, dreamed about lampworking for a long time before attempting it. Bought my glass and bead release in 2001 and finally got to begin in March 2004. I love it and buying a kiln is in my plans, probably around September. In my everyday life I am a pattern designer ( sewing-quilting-beadwork ) and I collaborate to a french craft magazine. Twice my little beading pattern were published in Beadwork magazine too.
Good day Patch-Denise

Welcome, Denise,
Sounds like you've got some interesting experience. And now you're making beads too. Do you have a link to the patterns you designed? And do you have a website?
Tina
Thanks for the welcome Sooz, Beth and Christina. I don't have a web site anymore...but thinking about making one. Just need a few more hours in a day. Will try to post pictures on a yahoo album or something so you can see.
