Ear wire jig

Hi everyone,

Some of you know who I am. I mostly lurk here, occasionally post. I don't make beads (yet) but that may be in the future. What I was wondering if anyone here had tried the wooden ear wire jig that Fire Mountain sells, and if so were you pleased with the results. I was thinking of buying it.

Hi Karen, I remember you! I haven't tried FMG's, I made my own with a block o wood and a couple of nails. Worth a try, saves you money and also starts you experimenting with jigs, making your own can be fun.

Glad you're Mom's OK.

I tried making ear wires in a class and just had no luck at all. I'd probably choose to use 20 or even 18 ga, just because I personally like the heavy wire.

The 22 is great for loops and connectors, etc, but for weight-bearing findings, like aerwires and s-clasps, I like a heavier gauge. Smaller gauges are good for wiring a stone with wrapped loops as a component or drop with S-connectors between.
