French Beaded Flowers - Easy or Not?

I think it is easy. I have made 1/2 dozen of these roses before. And a hyacinth. The link I used to go to has since disappeared. I would like to make all the parts to the flowers first. Then actually put the flowers together. I find making the flowers parts easy, but putting the flowers together a little difficult. But I like the flowers to look as real as possible so I would take my time. I also liked using the color of wire as the color of beads I am using. So If I am making red flowers I like to use red wire. Green wire for the leaves. It looks more real.

I'm thinking of making a few (20 or so) flowers for bride & bridesmaids bouquets. OH... and if anyone wants to get rid of a book they might own on how to make the flowers, just email me with the details and I'll respond ASAP.

I love doing them. I am left handed but that has caused no problem. My main problem here in NZ is the high cost of beads or the high cost of postage. The fun part is combining different techniques and colours and inventing your own designs.

Hey this is the design I used to make my roses.

Is it easy or hard to pick up? And does it have a LOT of repetitive motions that will make ones fingers and hands hurt after only making 3 flowers? Is it easy to perfect, so that the finished flower will look professional, with clean wire endings or is this something that only comes with lengthy practice?

Hi, Amy. :) Oh, I will definitely take pics of the finished flowers. I'm still in the gathering mode right now... the mass quantity beads, a bead spinner, Florist tape, etc. I do know that I need some good instructions now... perhaps a used book on sale on Amazon or eBay? I found so many links when I googled... now I just have to weed out the wheat from the chaff. :))))))))) Thanks!! Linda
