Got the crimp pliers but...?

I seem to be experiencing technical difficulties. Is there any reason I should keep breaking seed beads? Tried to make a few chokers and all I keep doing is breaking them. Should I leave a little slack in there? Or does it just take practice, practice, practice? So far not impressed. But I said the same thing about silamide so I guess it just might be lack of familiarity.

Now, just waiting those seed beads. Don't you wish they'd hurry up with developing matter transporters so it could be even more instant gratification. Or the thingies they have on star trek (I'd like x amount of x type of beads. poof, there they are) (or whatever else you wanted!) (replicators, that's the word!)

Well, there's a string of seed beads, crimp bead and then a few more seed beads so no matter how I do it there's a seed on each side of the crimp. Like I said, I'm just practicing right now but I was wondering if it's just the way I'm doing it? Maybe if I used the 3mm crimps instead of the 2? They just look SO big next to the seeds (even though they wouldn't be once they were crimped down, right?) Both pair came with the diagram so I know that's not it. I think it just may be due to my inexperience with this particular technique. Thanks for the advice.

In addition to what anybody had said or will say, make sure you are using the "tube" crimps, not the "blobby" base metal ones.

No matter what I tried, I couldn' successfully crimp using the base metal crimps: they'd either "skew", or kink or cut the cord/wire. Tube crimps are a breeze, OTOH.
