GRR! Stupid broken Bali!

I spent over an hour on what should have been a simple angel pendant. It seemed each bead needed a different sized wire, based on the size of the holes, but I was determined to make the combo work. Finally got it all together, wrapped the loop at the top, and half of the dots on the Bali daisy "halo" fell off!! ARG! I only have the makings for one more of these, but I really didn't want to use the other bead cap (the big ones can get expensive!) on an identical pendant (this is for my Grama's Christmas present).

I'm sure there's no way to fix this. Just sucks, needed to vent to someone that might understand why this is something to be upset about;o) LOL All things considered, I think it came out really well; it even jingles when the rose quartz drop wiggles in the Bali bead cap! :o)

I may have misunderstood your question, be here's my reply:o)

Uhh...I guess not...I don't usually think about those things, since I'm not selling jewelry (yet). I guess if someone else took it, claimed it as their own, and told me that *I* couldn't sell them, that would piss me off. But if I saw someone else selling them somewhere else, I don't think it would bother me. As long as *I* was still allowed rights to the design, too. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth to tell someone else that they can't make something that I do; my opinion is unpopular (at least in my sewing circles), but I don't go preaching 'my way is The Way', kwim? I just believe that if someone else can take something I came up with, and market it better, make it better (or cheaper, or faster), and generally sell it better, then I just need to find something else to do. No biggie to me; my first concern is the customer, and I would prefer them to be able to get it faster/cheaper/better, even if I can't provide that. I've no limit to my creativity, & have no qualms with letting someone that DOES use one out of my millions of ideas.

So, if I misunderstood your question, sorry! LOL ;o) If what you were asking is if I made that up all on my own, with no pattern, or preconceived idea (well, not all true; I had seen those beads used as angel wings before), then, yes, I did :o) A classic example of having about 6" of wire, a bead I loved (the rose quartz drop-thanks, Mary!), and a determination to make them *work* ;o)

Thanks for the compliment! :o)

okay - i think i understand. i've seen the angel wings used that way before too. i just happen to have those particular components around, and i was thinking how much my sister would love a pair of angels to wear.

Kyla,

Ever hear the story of the Littlest Angel? She couldn't keep her halo straight or her gown clean or ever find her harp?

Your angel is so very cute and the not-quite-right halo reminded me of that sweet story. So, find a copy and give it to your gran with the pendant.....turn the mishap into a plan!
