Help a girl out: 11 pendants on eBay going cheap!!

Some customers do browse related newsgroups in the hopes of finding artisans to buy from, so advertising in NGs related to your work is not a useless idea in general.

This group is supposed to be for discussion. It would be easily swamped if many tried to use it to sell thinkgs like this. I just went on Ebay and searched "glass pendant." 6,353 items were listed. And there are many other listings under glass. Most of us who are interested in discussions work in glass and are unlikely to want to buy items like this. Few would want to scroll through dozens or more of for sale messages each day. And we can go on Ebay if we want to shop. Good or bad, Ebay is where this belongs.

Ummmmh? Seems like it was one of you nitwit no-talent beadmakers that started the crossposting in the first place.

Oh don't be silly - most of us started out doing stained glass, repairs and fusing - we just moved into a different area of glasswork.

As for myself, I just got tired of fixing and restoring broken stained glass windows and lamps, in homes and local establishments. That doesn't mean I am any less or better then you - just a different type of glass artist.

Your posts on other boards are always so gruff and negative - go play with the grandkids or something - maybe they can teach you how to better relate to people.

Maybe I should set the bot to post the charter for r.c.g. to r.c.b. so they know what not to post here.

Hint to the OP: If you're going to cross-post to a group you don't normally frequent, you should at least read the charter of that group so you know what's allowed "over there."

The OP doesn't frequent RCB either, or they would have known to put "AD" in their heading, and they wouldn't have crossposted to RCG because we have rules against crossposting ads. Properly marked, relevant ads are welcome in RCB. Not everywhere.

It was a fuser, and not a regular from our group. Which you should have been able to figure out if you had better than 4th-grade reading comprehension.

If you're so talented, how many galleries carry your work? How many books and magazines have you been published in? How many newspaper articles and TV spots have you been featured in? Sounds like someone has a nasty case of sour grapes, and a serious need to get out of the basement and get laid more often.

To quote the late, lamented Slim Pickens

Damn, you talk purty!

Perhaps he could start out getting laid in the basement so as not to frighten the servants or horses?

Books, magazines, galleries, TV shows and newspaper articles don't pay the bills, sweetie. You and yer pals can run around in your little mutual admiration bead society gushing over some little gee-gaw of melted glass and have your fancy websites and peddling your "art" on eBay all you want. I'll take the cash flow.

You spend hours making your silly little beads and put them on eBay and think you've done something if one sells. Your April eBay sales were (according to the feedback left) just barely over $400!

Bwahahaah! BFD!!! Hell, minimum wage jobs pay twice that.

But, hey, yer an artist, ain'tcha?

What a jerk. Why are you still posting on our boards? We don't need this stuff here.

God, no kidding. "Nit-wit no-talent beadmakers?" What an asshole.

You have anger issues. Either that or youre just a complete jerk. Where do you get off? Especially since Kalera sells thousands of dollars of work on her website, and ebay is a very small percentage of her total sales. What the hell is your problem?

Anger? Nah. I'm laughing my ass off at you nitwit no-talent beadmakers getting your XXL panties in a knot.

Wow! I'm just thrilled that "Kalera sells thousands of dollars of work on her website". Have you made your pilgrimage just to touch the hem of her garment?

Why, eventually she may even be able to afford some plastic surgery and dental work. Or at the very least hire a body double for the website photos.

Thousands of dollars. Wowzer, that's really mind-boggling. Thousands??? Are you sure???

Okay, you obviously don't give a rat's ass as to what's actually being said - you'd rather antagonize people for no good reason.

Kalera's a friend of mine, so yes, I know for sure. And yep, I have made the pilgrimage to touch her hem, and would again. She's a lovely person. Obviously, it's your loss that you have decided to alienate her and everyone else by being such a short-sighted and shallow troll.

Moonie, you really miss Dennis, don't you?

Glad to see you have made some new friends to play with (and to entertain the rest of us! lol)

Hi, Amy. One of the things I love about rec.crafts.beads is that it's a very supportive group. We WANT all our friends here to do well. We share advise, observations, preferences and just general friendly support.

I hope you hang around here and enjoy the company, advise and information.

Stop feeding the troll, Becki. And stop crossposting to the holy of holies of glass, rec.crafts.glass and they'll go back under the bridge.

I remember when I started reading the groups looking for info on beads and was told in no uncertain terms over on r.c.g that the place I belonged was the swamp with the beadmakers, the glass makers were too lofty and holy and well... perfect to be bothered with our teeny tiny inadequate offerings.

LOL.

It's funny how they all look down on the beadmakers. I have this vision of most of those stuffy dickheads sitting around being so snobby and then running home to make yet more glass that will get reproduced in China for one hundreth the price.

Wow, I'm really humbled, you must be a really amazing artist to be able to look SOooo far down your nose at us...and DAMN! Didn't you just put us in our place! I'm surprised you could even be bothered to comment to the likes of us. I guess we should be grateful!

And wouldn't it be an honour to be able to view the work of a true master such as yourself...how about a link? I assume you've got pictures of these glass masterpieces? I've just got to see what real art looks like...silly me, I apparently have no clue!
