Last great AD of defiance.....

I've always looked forward to seeing what new beads our group members had to offer. I try to limit the amount of time I spend on the computer and I admit that I don't participate as often as I used to, but I really, REALLY enjoy the eye candy! But here lately it seems that more and more people are complaining about all the ADs. Now when I post an AD I feel all weird and freaky deaky about it, like I know there's people out there just rolling their eyes and thinking "Oh no, not her again!"....LOL! So I've decided that I shouldn't post any more ADs. I'm not being a baby,,,,and I'm not running away from the group. I'm just saying that in the future, if anyone should want to see what I've been making lately, (I know you're out there Su, I can hear you breathing....) to use the link in under my signature or visit my website. I'll still be here every day to get my RDA of droolworthy eye candy! =o))~~~~~

Well you can email me to let me know when you have new goodies. BTW, did you get the email I sent you?

I know exactly what you mean Dawn and that is why I haven't posted anything in a while. I hate spam and I don't want to inflict other people with spam if that is how they view it. I can certainly understand that feeling, so I stopped too. I do still check in here once a day or so just to see what's up and to read the messages though.

Oh heck no... don't take it like that...

I love looking at your stuff! LOL

I think some of us just miss the extra chit chat too!

I posted a few new things to my website tonight - I haven't been actively selling, but that's only because I am spending so much time filling those darn chocolate bead orders .....!!! LOL

Oh, I wish you would post your ads! I hope people don't my posting mine. I love looking at all the ads here. :) The chatter is wonderful as well, but the ads are my fave. :) I'm weird - I know.

Yes, I agree with Kandice! - and I'd like to see ads from Teresa again too.

I may have a different taste in beads, but that doesn't mean I don't want to look at them and be notified by posts that they're there. There used to be more chatter and I miss that too, but having been somewhat absent myself I probably shouldn't complain.

I know, Dawn, and I don't post ADs here now either, nor do I feel welcome discussing Mike's progress because of the complaints.

I'm out there with my nose pressed up against your window.

Dawn and others, I don't mind the ads, I usually do click on them and look at the beads. I just mind that the group has become almost all ads. I miss all the conversations we used to have about what we were designing, gossip about the industry, a bead show review or trip, etc. We have gotten away from all that and it makes me a little sad. Speaking of which, we went out yesterday on a bead road trip, visiting a bead store in Newtown, PA, a small store with good prices on shaped semiprecious beads, great lighting, and a friendly staff. Then we went on to Chestnut Hill, PA. to an amazing bead store called Bumble Beads. They carry unusual semiprecious beads - I bought some Fire Agate beads @ $6.00 in a long bicone shape, some two holed light yellow squared beads, bronze Czech stars, some fire polished blue-green rondelles, and these cute sterling charms - an Easter basket with eggs, highly detailed at $7.00 each. I'm going to make a pair of earrings for me and a pair for my mother in law. They also carry rubies, aquamarine, beautiful heart shaped tourmaline beads. They're having a sale next week with 30% off on everything. It's worth a trip if you are in the area. Other than that, I'm very busy with special orders, putting bead kits together for a class I'm teaching and working on the ISGB code revision committee. Patti

Gah!! DISCUSS! I love to hear about his progress!

You know, if people don't want to read ads, they can filter them out.

The first thing I do in the morning is to read this newsgroup, only this group as time is always busy. I read and think about everything and look at all the ads. I enjoy the progress.

I push myself out of my comfort zone because of the work you all do. Have just posted away my entry in the Bead Dreams Non wearable section. I tried doing the best work I could and to a deadline. If it goes no further, then I have a completed item I am proud of.

Also, have orders piling up. This weekend have had two funerals and an opening ceremony to attend, full time work today with a staff meeting afterwards.

Cheers, Jan

You're an evil woman for combining the two things I love the most, Chocolate and beads! Hmmmm, maybe if all my chocolates were made of glass I wouldn't be so plump!....LOL!

Thank you so much for all of your replies, but I don't want this thread to be misunderstood. I'm not leaving the group, and I'm not upset. I just felt a little weird about posting my AD's twice a week, which is in part due to the fact that I feel guilty about posting AD's when I don't really have much time for the chit chat anymore. I've been trying so hard to spend more time on the torch and less time on the computer. The other part was that I didn't want to contribute to the reason why some people no longer enjoyed visiting the group. I noticed the decline in the amount of ADs that were posted and had a feeling that a few others might have gotten the same feelings that I was having. That's why I kind of wanted to state how I feel about it, and to say for one, that the ADs are my favorite part of the group. I enjoy the chit chat as well, and over the years have come to think of you all as my extended family of sorts. But I'm still right here....looking.....drooling.....and posting when I can. I love you guys!
