OT: Bad things to do when you are alone....

  1. Turn out lights (yes I'm afraid of the dark)
  2. Watch all the scary movies after dark (I love scary movies but they give me nightmares)
  3. Shiver more than the Chihuahua beside you
  4. Wake up screaming so loud the neighbors call the police (not the first time either)

Okay, going back to bed now and watch more scary movies with the lights on this time. Poor Trinkett...I'm sure she isn't cold so I must have scared her to death.

I wish we could both curl up and watch those scary movies together, Starlia:) Then we could be miserable together.

Ew ew ew! What did you watch? I can't watch the scary stuff often - I just don't have the stomach for it anymore. I used to love that stuff when I was really young, but I just can't do it anymore. :) Eeeeek!

Hehehe...at least the police were nice this time. The last set wanted to know if DH had hurt me and I wasn't saying anything. Since he isn't here they didn't have anyone to blame but me.

DH becomes rather annoyed when watching scary movies with me. To deflect the fear, I have a bad habit of enquiring loudly, "Is he dead yet?" or ,"What's that stuff coming out of her eyes?" or, "If they're mummies, they're dead right, so why do they have to eat brains anyway?" DH has told me that it's virtually impossible to suspend disbelief when I do this.

Another method for reducing the fear, I'm told, is to clean while you watch. Or so my boss tells me. She says it's hard to be afraid when you're polishing the furniture.

Maybe you could brush Trinkett during the really scarey parts. Just leave a bit of fur on her, won't you LOL

I have strange dreams after watching horror films, not really related to the movie. I usually wake up puzzled.

I have to agree with your DH on this. (Okay, I don't *have* to, but I will .)

Another major thing that bugs me when I'm watching movies is if someone says what's about to happen on screen, i.e., "Oh he's gonna get stabbed now." And then the character gets stabbed. Aaargh!

Cheers, Carla (loves horror movies, the juicier the better. Still can't watch "The Exorcist" when I'm home al> DH becomes rather annoyed when watching scary movies with me. To deflect the

Hey! I'm alone this weekend too, Starlia. Watching bad scary movies sounds like more fun than "Margie the white tornado" rocking to the oldies.

No way :O

Yesterday, I was just watching Childs Play on broadcast TV, during the day, being distracted with clay. That's the only way I can handle scary movies, LOL. Or I have to cover my eyes and ask DH "can I look yet? can I look yet?".

I really love scary movies. Love them. However, I do have nightmares sometimes without watching movies. I've been known to scream bloody murder for minutes at a time in my sleep which I did last night. Most of the time DH wakes me up immediately because I scare the hell out of him doing it.

The Exocist, Candyman, Lost Souls, and another one I can't remember. The Exocist was the clincher.

LOL! There's absolutely NO WAY I would watch anything like that by myself! Nightmares for sure!

Ok, I've never woken up screaming, but I do have bad dreams after scary movies and they affect me for days. No thanks.

Tonight we went to the cheap movie (2.99 here) to watch Spiderman 2. There was a group of kids in the back talking out loud at the screen. What a PITA. Finally someone said, "You are NOT in your living room, you're in a movie theater. Would you please stop talking!" Good for her, wish I had said it first. It did make them quieter, but of course they didn't stop. Then when we went outside, all the kids piled onto a huge 60 seater bus! No idea where they came from.

When my oldest daughter was about 13, she had her first real boy-girl party in the basement. We had a nice finished basement with a big central room with a sofa, a tv and carpeting so it was great for such things.

Her dad and I ordered in the pizzas, and sent them down with the videos we'd chosen. After half an hour it was dead quiet and we thought it was time to play chaperone, so he headed downstairs and was back up in ten seconds laughing his head off.

They were watching 'Salem's Lot' which is wonderfully scary for kids. They'd been sitting on the sofa and each time something scary happened they'd involuntarily push the sofa back a bit across the carpet. By the time he checked on them, the sofa had navigated to the far wall and was wedged up against the panelling with six cowering teenagers on it.

We used to really wind her up by saying 'The Master wants to see you now...'.

I love the movie but can't watch it by myself. I'm a really horrible person for jumping and screaming during scary films. I did laugh through most of 'Van Helsing' though.
