OT:Home "sick", sorta

I have been achy and had a very low fever for the past few days. I decided to stay home today, pay some bills, watch reruns and bead.

My daughter had her birthday party Friday night from 5:30 till 10:00. She had 7 close friends over. They ate, went to the park and rolled down the hill??? As if 15 year olds are not dizzy enough! And just generally hung out. It went very well, so I was happy for her. My husband and I just stayed upstairs and let them do their thing downstairs. It was a group that potentially could have had some tiffs. Some very strong personalities. I was glad they all managed to enjoy each others company. Their one planned activity was the "Ann Trivia" quiz. I sat in on that, because I knew it would be a hoot. My daughters last trivia question was (and she said it with a straight face) "What makes Ann so wonderful?" LOL! They all actually answered this, some funny and some sincere.

Saturday I worked at the artisit Co-op I belong to. My husband worked with me. If we both work, even tho he is not an artist showing his work there, we get credit for both of our hours. We had a nice peaceful time. He draws, so that is what he did, and I made 4 necklaces (well, 2 onf them just needed to be finished with clasps, crimps, etc.) His drawing is phenominal. I will post a link tonight so you can see a sample.

Oh, I have to tell you this really cool thing my daughter said. She was taking a walk over to a friends house. And I (kiddingly) said, "You're not going like that are you?" (she had on this old dumpy shirt, etc.) "What if you run into the man of your dreams?" And she said "Well, if he's the man of my dreams he won't really care about stuff like that will he?" Damn! I am still not that secure. She is so able to maintain her sense of self with others. I love it.

Yesterday I read "Tuesdays with Morrie". Nice book.

So, like the comics say "I'll be here all day, folks". Well, they would say all week, but I don't think I will stay home sick all week.

Smart. You will rest and renew.

I used to do that! It was a blast. (rolling down the hill) It's wonderful. You should go try it when you feel better. (It's a steep grassy hill, right?)

Hope you feel better soon, sweetie. I know you've been having the menopause sneak attacks too. Rub your feet with peppermint lotion and lounge. Nap. Take this-----> {{{{{{{{{KathyH}}}}}}}}}} and call me in the morning. ~~Dr. Sooz ~~ Sooz

Thanks, I try to be a good mom by treating her like a person, not a "kid". I have managed to maintain authority without alienating her..... so far. It's easier when there's one kid. I have time to listen to her individual rationale. If there were a couple more, I'm not sure I could be that open. Besides, she is a very cool, intelligent person who I am happy to have around.

((((((((Kathy)))))) I know how you feel...I've developed a case of the flu, and I'm stuck in bed for a couple of days. Take good care of yourself!

You know, taking sick days are for ensuring the health of employees. Taking a day off when you are physically and mentally low so you can go back to work is very very sensible. Especially from the point of view of the employer, though they may not see it that way.

What a great little glimpse into your life. Makes me smile.

Ah, what a great day. Got some wash done, paid the bills, made some dinner (salad and pasta with pesto & parmesan). I hung my blanket out on the clothes line. I love the way it smells now. That is my favorite scent.

You sound rejuvenated, good for you! It appears that you also know how to have a good time or in this case a good day. :=)

Sooz constantly amazes me; she's an inspiration to me, actually. I hope that if I'm ever in the same life situation, that I handle it with the same grace and dignity....

Great, I can't hardly wait for menopause. I can't sleep already, and it drives the people in my life nuts.
