Sooz,

Methadone isn't all that bad. I had to take it for several years daily and I still occasionally take it for pain. I was able to get the botox shots that killed any pain I was feeling.

I was able to function great on methadone once it was established in my system. It didn't make me sleepy or anything. I was crankier, but that's me almost any meds. Also you have to eat on meth. Meth makes you not want to eat as much, but you have to eat first thing in the morning or you get sick. I hated that feeling so I always kept crackers around before it got bad.

Think about taking it if you think it will work for you. If you have any questions about my experience, which was okay, then please email me.

If it's a possibility, and I don't know where your pain is located, ask your doctor about the botox shots. I was the third patient to have it in my head from our doctor's office. I can't tell you how much my life has been for the better. I do have to get the shots about every 8-12 months...but it's worth it.

The thing is -- I still have to care for Kevin, who's a quadriplegic. Can I do both at the same time?

(And I hate to take ANY Rxs for this stuff) ~~ Sooz

I was able to function so much better on the meth it isn't even funny. I felt like a new, improved person. I was able to function almost like normal again and that was a huge improvement.

My only recommendation is to give it a try. If it doesn't work no harm no foul. But if it does it change your life for the better.

Shoot, that won't work. I bet the methadone would make a huge difference in your life though. I hated going on it, I hated people initially thought I was a junky, and I hated that it made me moody. I did however love being pain free. What a huge difference in my life it made.

I suspected you of something like that. I love you my brave friend, and I respect you for getting so much done. With light returning, I'm a little more present in the world, too.

I'm feeling that, too. Pain is worsening, but my mood is getting much better with the days lasting longer.

Huggles to you both.

Oh, ick - I am sorry you had to skip the bead trunk show - that sucks! I know what you mean, though. Pain can sure screw things up big time. I wish there was something I could do to help! (((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) are always available though. Always. I am not sure what methadone is, but I hope it helps. I know the better weather will definitely help. Cry all you need to and post if it makes you feel better! Love you, sweet Sooz.

Thanks, you sweet thing. The trunk show, I heard, had great prices on some very nice aquamarine (that I was looking for) augh!

Methadone is what they give heroin addicts to sub for heroin. It's an oral medicine. Apparently a couple of people here have had an Rx for it, for pain, in the past. ~~ Sooz
