OT: Update and another disappearing act

I have been absent from here SO much and am about to disappear again. Carol's house is going to be listed in the MLS tomorrow, and we expect some action after that. We have been frantically, and I mean frantically, getting things ready for this. The house and grounds are just so huge. There was a lot to do.

We just came back from a trip to CA, and the game plan was for me to bring my jewelry stuff back so that I could sit here in this nice clean, empty (except for me) house and make jewelry and let the realtors in, LOL. However, we had other things in the car and there was no room for my jewelry making supplies. Carol has offered to lend me hers, but shoot. You can imagine how much stuff she has (or, maybe you can't, LOL). It would take me FOREVER just to become familiar with where all the pieces and parts are so that I could pick out what I wanted to use. It is much easier to use my own things. I know where they are all located. My car's a/c quit while we were in CA and it was blistering hot. However, Carol saw a weather report the day we decided to come back home, and they said it was going to cool down, so we decided not to get the a/c fixed before we came home. BIG mistake -- it was 104 when we went past the "world's biggest thermometer" in Baker, CA and had entered our trip into the desert. The trip back was grueling. There were also some very funny things that happened on this trip. I hope to have a web page up to show you one day (Carol took some pictures that were so funny. You won't get it until you see it).

Anyway, I am the designated person to open the door to show the house, and of course am still doing things to it while I am here (am going to clean Courtney's playhouse tomorrow, and then have some work to do in the garden). It seems that I have been away from jewelry making forever. I did buy a few things this month, only because it is Carol's birthday next month, and I have to find unusual things to give her or make for her. Despite the fact that she has everything, LOL, she is an easy person to find a gift for.

I have lovely, lovely things from many of you that are sitting, either in CA or here, waiting on me to become a jewelry-maker again. Shirley, I got the package from you (royal mail! how cool) and have things from VJ, Beki, Cheryl, Jerri and shoot, I hope I didn't forgot anyone, that have been gifted to me and I have not been able to make up yet. I was so hoping to do that this month. That opportunity feels as if it is slipping through my fingers. I may not be eligible to post here because it has been so long since I made anything!

And, Carol's daughter Courtney leaves for Italy either this weekend or next week, not sure when, and of course I promised her I would paint her bedroom and bathroom while she is gone. Could someone shoot me for making promises like this? LOL. I never know when to keep my mouth shut.

So, there it is, my non-beading life. It is good and I am well. Just not a productive, or any other kind, of jewlery-maker right now. Feels weird.

love you all, and thanks for listening --
