OT Who's coming over for dinner?

I got a huge package of boneless beef ribs, three gigantic bottles of Cattleman's BBQ sauce in Honey, Smoke, and Classic, and a mess of red potatoes for some dirty mashed taters. I'll toss some maple and brown sugar baked beans in there, some Texas toast and a salad, and we'll have some good eats--far more than my little family of four can consume, lol! So, who else should I set a plate for?

Cattleman's is THE place to go for a steak dinner in Davis/Dixon, California, and we miss it like crazy.

When I typed baked beans, it came out baked beads. Go figure.

How about my DHs Death by Caffiene and Chocolate Bombe? First, a layer of Oreo cookie crumb crust... then chocolate fudge.... a layer of Starbucks espresso coffee ice cream, then a dusting of freshly ground espresso beans.. a layer of Godiva chocolate ice cream, another dusting of espresso beans, vanilla ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream, shaved chocolate for garnish. Oh crap, I forgot dessert. Oh! I know, I'll make a Dinette Cake! (For those of you not in the know, that's the cake that is traditionally made into a Pineapple Upside Down cake--sans the pineapple part.) I made one of those the night before I had surgery when I was preggeo with Dare, and I ate the whole dang thing in 45 minutes. Had to beat my cut off of 11:30 pm for no more solids! This cake is so moist and delicious that it doesn't need any frosting, which is just the way I prefer my cake! And it's buttery, and best served warm...*drooling* The best part is that it's a dump cake--all ingredients in the same bowl, no fuss, less muss!

If I liked chocolate, this would send me into a diabetic coma for sure. That sounds heavenly.

dump cake is *my* kids all time favorite.

1 can cherry pie filling 1 can crushed pineapple

mix together well in the bottom of a 9x12 cake pan.

1 yellow cake mix [dry] sprinkle over the top of the mixture in the cake pan. make sure and do it gently!

2 sticks margarine cut in slices and distribute evenly over the cake mix.

almond slices may be sprinkled over the top as desired.

Bake at 350 [325 if using glass] for ABOUT one hour. Bake until top has turned brown.

if served hot, right out of the oven, it can be used as topping for vanilla ice cream.

if serve warm, it will act much like a cobbler.

if served cold, the top layer 'sets up'. then put the vanilla ice cream on top.

be careful - it is SERIOUSLY rich!

Oh, that's what Candace was talking about? I have a similar recipe and yes it's very rich. I like your recipe better than mine.

So what time is dinner? :=)

Speaking of dessert...DH made the most delicious homemade brownies and homemade icing I've ever tasted. The only reason I eat that sugarcide is because it's that time of month and the ONLY time I crave anything chocolate. Most other times I can even put it in my mouth.

Dear God that man is going to kill me if he keeps cooking so well. And he cleans up the kitchen too!

I don't think I've ever seen boneless beef ribs. Unless that's what we call "brisket".

Save me some leftovers!
