PMC necklace

By Maura Muir

Very doable. Fold over beads. Cut out focal. Lots of texture.

Did you just start posting drool lists recently? Im enjoying the pieces you're bringing to our attention. Diana

Many things that work for PMC also work with PC. Wonder what you'll come up with.

Actually Maura Muir is a polyclay artist.

Thanks, Diane. I used to post big lists, but I think it's easier to look at just a few things at a time. I usually try to avoid the biggest names when I post.

Very nice, but I certainly wouldn't trust a $225 necklace to a magnetic clasp!

That is a piece of art. Drool.

You got that right. Don't know why she didn't make a matching toggle out of PMC.

Gorgeous - be sure to look at her polymer clay galleries, too.

I can't wait to take my PMC class which I had to move from next Saturday to January. Boohooo....darn that brother of mine for wanting to get married on the 16th.

Probably because it says in the instructions that PMC is not suitable for findings. At least it says that in my instruction sheet that came with the PMC. If you do not fire the clay sufficiently it does break. I found that out. When I went to the show last year I ask why it had broken and I was told I had not fired it enough. Shirley

That's odd. One of our require projects in the Level II certification class was to make a clasp.

You are correct about the firing though - that's why I prefer a kiln or the hot pot to using the handheld torch.

PMC is not considered suitable for clasps (because even after proper firing it's not strong enough). PMC3, on the other hand, is suitable for clasps. Is it possible that you made your Level II certification clasp from PMC3?
