yes! enough texture to keep them from rolling, but nothing to have the needle to catch on.

I don't do seed beading, so don't work with the needle, but I use a shoebox lid, and a washcloth that has a "cordoroy" type texture to it, and I dump my little piles onto it (ew...that sounded *GROSS*)

absolutely! when i was in Bremerton with Jamie and getting the two little girls started making their bracelets, we found the cookie sheets, but when i said "dishtowel" their mother came back with ones in multiple loud colors and terry cloth. and a blank look when i said they needed to be white and relatively smooth. we finally settled on pillowcases for that night.
