Swarovski crystal bracelet story

Yes, it is the color of the crystal. It's a lovely shade of red. Kind of a blue red rather than an orange red but not a maroon or burgundy - it's definitely RED. There's a light siam as well but I like the darker - looks alot like a nice clear ruby.

Well, my LBS is actually a friend who has a bead shop in her home. I figure if I'm going to pay retail, a friend might as well make some money in the deal as well. She actually gives me a pretty good deal plus there's been times when I find free goodies in the bag as well as the things I paid for. :-)

Yup. Caravan beads out of Maine sells Swarovski 4 mm bicone mixes for a pretty decent price. As surprises no one, I bought them all. I love them for a lot of reasons, great customer service, great prices on half-kilos of seed beads, and their location in Maine means I get everything next day.

Tell Barry I sent you.

(Ditto with South Pacific)

Speaking of South Pacific

Willis has 4 mm Swarovski bracelets for cheap, cheap as part of his weekly specials page. It would be a simple matter to cut the elastic thread and use the beads for your bead soup, too.

Yep, because traditionally the best rubies came from Siam. (now Thailand)

I can't decide which Swarovski color I like best - it changes from day to day. If I could afford to buy them all, maybe I'd be able to make a decision. These days, I'm loving the plain crystal ones, simply because they show of the form of the bead so beautifully.

You sound like me! Most of the time my favorite is the Jet Glacier Blue AB

2x but since I have 15 bracelets, it's tough to say. I like all of them. Some more than others but even that can change. For example, I have a bracelet made from the Topaz crystals. It's nice but not terribly eye catching unless I pair it with the Topaz Dorado bracelet. NOW it's something to look at. I also have both Crystal AB and Crystal Transmission. Very close to each other so I used pale pink petite seed beads (Mill Hill) on the CT one and gold seed beads on the Crystal AB. Surprizing how different they look!

I prefer the AB, especially AB 2x but some colors, like Siam, don't need any coating at all.

I much prefer the non-coated. Most of the ABs have a pink tint in them that I don't care for, and that is not part of the color themes I use. It also decreases the light, and the optical properties are the very very best element of Swarovskis. I also find the opal ones especially useful. I don't like white beads, so the opal works to add a hint of white without that dead stop Sooz and I experience from white beads. And the satins are great for adding lots of spark to lampwork without fighting for attention. Erinite and Indicolite are also favourites. And hyacinth 4mm light a fire in carnelian. Yeah, I've got the bug too.

I like Jeankay on eBay. She has a great "birthstone" mix, and her prices are very fair.

I was wondering what catalogue I could find some of these colors mentioned , esp the AS2X ones, I have a couple of cataloges and they really don't have that much of a color selection, or finish selection. Like the mention of the satin finish on the crystal bead, I have not seen that. Can someone tell me what catalogue I can get to look at those. thanks, Lisa
