AnnTheSpam?

Recently, I have been getting lots of ads from AnnTheGran.com. Has anyone else been getting lots of spam from her? It use to be a great site.

Does anyone know what's happening?

I got one. The last time I went to her site, last week, I discovered that you now have to register to get free designs. According to the site, this is because some people were downloading the designs and selling them. So I registered and a day later I got the e-mail. Only one so far, though.

I have gotten them but do not consider this Spam. If it will keep the site open then I can put up with the occasional ad. After all this is a great resource and what ever she has to do to keep it going is alright with me.. Just the sheer logistics of keeping up with the free designs and updating the site is mind boggling. I DO NOT consider this in any way SPAM.....If we moan and whine about the occasional ad then we risk the possibility of losing the whole thing....It is still a great site and one I visit often when in need of a specific design.

Excuse me, but I don't see any moaning in my post. I was merely responding to the first poster, who asked what had happened. I said that, (as a point of interest) I had received one e-mail after registering. Nowhere was I complaining about my one e-mail. As far as the site, yes, it is good, but some of the designs are better than others, as would be expected.

I should have replied to the fist poster also. But instead replied to yours, I was not referring to you an any way shape or form as whining on your part or in your answer. It was a mistake to reply to your post, but I do stand by my writing that if we consider this spam then the site will go down as many others that previously listed free designs did. It is a huge job to keep AnntheGran web site going and if it means I get another post I delete to keep the site up an running so be it. I even consider the heading "AnnTheSpam" to be a slap in the face to this woman who works so hard for others. I did not mean you personally and will have to watch which post is replied to in the future. The Internet is so persnickety and I am sorry you took it as a personal affront, it was not meant as such. I apologize for upsetting you. As for the designs quality, this is a showcase for new digitizers and as with all things you must test sew first. Even the big digitizing companies often have bad designs, Amazing Designs is about the worst for this and is why they have testers like us to pre sew before the designs hit the market. You would not believe how many we reject. I think that anyone who sends their hard work to be posted for free is giving us something we did not have before. Most of the digitizers out there started with AnnTheGran way back 12 or more years ago. Some now have very successful sites. It does take time to get good but ATG does give us so much choice, and for free and a chance for the new machine owners to get a few designs to start and new digitizers to show off a bit. .
