Elna 6001 vs Babylock Ellure

I am considering buying a new machine. My choices are the Elna 6001, and the Babylock Ellure. PLEASE respond with likes/dislikes for either machine, to help me make my decision!!! I like them both. I found features in BOTH that I do not necessarily use. I would LOVE some advice here!!

THanks!

Go for the BabyLock. The Elna 6001 is only a sewing machine. You will like the BL better, remember the BL Ellure is also an embroidery machine.

i bought a babylock ellure this summer, and am loving it! i wanted a bigger embroidery field (i had a bernin deco), and its just great! ive also sewn with it a few times, and am very pleasantly surprized by the quality and ease......

I do not do any embroidery... yet. I must admit that feature of the Babylock intrigues me a bit! I forgot to mention, that the other selling feature of the Elna is that I get a free serger with it! ($899 value... supposedly!) I already own an older serger that is quite functional. I reallylike the potential of embroidery, but don't know for certain that I will use it. I can't think of anything TO embroider. My kids are 11 (girl), and 13 (boy). What would I make/embroider for them?

The joke around our house was "Hide your underwear or Mom will embroider something on it". lol!!! Now they are in their 30's and bring me things to embroider on. Football emblems on t's, cartoon characters on pj's, pillowcases, monogram towels. Just be forewarned, machine embroidery is an addiction. Sharon

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Marie!!

Your girl and boy are at just the age when an embroidery machine will work itself to death :-))

For your daughter there are jeans with embroidered designs at the hem. These jeans cost a fortune in the mall. Also you can do logo for her band, dance, soccer -- you get the picture. For your son you can do all types of neat stuff on his clothes or logos for sports, band, chess club - you get the picture.

Now for you -- You can do your own embellished jeans. You can do just about everything with the BabyLock. I must add that it is an embroidery machine but it is a GREAT sewing machine too!!

As for the free serger -- well............ If you already have one that works you might pass that up.

Go to the Babylock website and look at all you can do with that machine.

I just bought the Ellure, all I wanted to do is sew a few things around the house. The Ellure has added an entirely new deminision to my sewing. My curtains match my wallpaper, my scrapbook cover is personalized, my dinner napkins match my fine china. Inexpensive t-shirts look like designers t-shirts. Duffle bags have our names on them, tote bags are personized for everyone. Even my dog has a personized jacket.

Get the Ellure, you won't regret it. Then go to alt.binaries.craft.pictures where folks post shareware images you can use in your projects.

You life will change for the better.
