I have seen the upgrades 3 and 4 on the Brother site in the USA. I have downloaded each one onto floppy discs and put one lot into the machine. I forgot to label them and now have version 4.01 on my machine. It shows the borders and buttonholes icon but now it seems I need another hoop to use each, and then to confuse it even more I saw somewhere someone told us we needed a Value Pack which was not available in the UK. I cannot see the new buttonholes and borders designs so wonder where they are, will they be included in the Value Pack whatever this is? Do you think I need to put the V3 upgrade into the machine as well. This is to help with threads. Bit confused or what. We cannot get any help in UK as they are so far behind. Liz

Version 4 gave us the ability to sew the border designs without the kit, that's why they removed it from the website, someone made a mistake. No you don't need version 3. With version 4.01 you will not be able to do this without purchasing the kit which you can read about on the Brother USA site.

By the way Liz our Brother Australia site is hoplessly out of date too, they are still advertising PED version 4 and when new updates are available I tell my dealer, he knows nothing about them.
