I guess we'd be better off riding our camels, rather than lighting up one! Noreen

I actually HAD a very elcheapo digi-web-cam, but it would no longer work for pix, only as a webcam. I also have a really good 35mm and a very good Advantix camera, but NOW I have a REAL digital camera. I just haven't installed the software, etc... YET! Noreen

I wonder why people still buy the cheapo ones. Are the pictures worth looking at, Noreen?

Katherine, My cheapo one actually took not-bad photos... but you couldn't SEE your pic as you took it, and HAD to go the computer to see what you just took. This new one has the screen to see ahead of time AND works as a webcam too.... Hugs, Noreen

Funny you should say that.... after having a good laugh over Mirjam thinking someone had a camel, it dawned on me that my Aunt (who lived in New Jersey at the time) used to smoke Camels years ago.

Then that made me think of the time my Uncle (same Aunt's husband) kept passing drinks to my Dad and my paternal grandmother (who was at the house that particular day) while my Dad was painting the kitchen. By the end of the afternoon my grandmother was kind of snockered and said "Jack is a very nice boy.... too bad he's a Catholic!" LOL She also said "That Jack, he got me drunk on Larks!" LOL Do they still make Lark cigarettes? That's what he was smoking, but she got the name mixed up with the drink. LOL

Noreen, I just got one of those too! It's a Kodak7300, and I'm quite pleased with it.

Hi, Norma! Mine's a Vivitar, and about the size of the Canon Elph - elf(??), but not NEARLY as expensive, lol! What I really like is the fact that not only can I SEE my pix ahead of time, I can also purchase an added memory card for it very inexpensively and store lots of pix right in the camera till I'm ready to go to my photo editor, OR I can even take them to Walmart or Walgreens, thereby saving MY ink, lol! I sure love it, AND my new PC... Hugs, Noreen

Sounds very similar to mine Noreen. I have the little screen and I can buy a memory card for it too. Mine also will take 30 second videos. It was about $130 Can. so not expensive like my BIL's. I think his was around $600, but then again he is the family photographer! LOL

Grin, isn't technology wonderful? Mine was under $100USD... the old elcheapo was ... believe it or not... $19USD, and it served me for 3 years! I really need to get it installed, but I'm having too much fun doing other stuff at the moment! Hugs, Noreen who finished a shawl for herself AND one for cousin Fran, yesterday.... and pix *would* be nice, eh? Now working on my sister's shawl....

Gee, $19 USD is a real buy. I still love the Sony Mavica cameras, the ones that save pictures onto a 3-1/2 floppy disc. They have a viewing screen as well, plus a few basic effects that can be applied to the pictures(not like those get used). The first one was bought as an "open box special" at Best Buy store, but the next few were bought on ebay, and cycled down to some of my other half's various children. I guess Sony also made cameras that recorded onto CD discs and specially sized CD's, but floppy discs are cheap and available just about anywhere, and the pictures can be pulled up on anyone's computer. As long as you have more floppies, you never have a camera that's "full" and waiting to be downloaded.
